The Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri Government Medical College and Hospital (SLBS GMCH) was founded in 2009, located in Ner Chowk, Mandi, Himachal Pradesh. By the Employees State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) and subsequently transferred to the Himachal Pradesh government in 2016. Patient services began in October 2018 after the college opened for business in May 2017 with a first class of 100 MBBS students. Since 2021, it has been associated with Atal Medical and Research University (AMRU), Mandi. The college is situated on a wide 23-acre campus in the picturesque Balh Valley. Modern classrooms, lecture halls, a digital library, an 800-seat auditorium, resident and resident and boy's dorms, a gymnasium, sports facilities, and a canteen are all part of the infrastructure. With 500 beds, the connected hospital has specialised units like paediatric, cardiac, and intensive care as well as cutting-edge surgical and diagnostic capabilities.
SLBS GMCH provides Diplomate of National Board (DNB) programs in Anaesthesiology, Medicine, Orthopaedics, Paediatrics, and Surgery in addition to undergraduate (MBBS) and graduate courses in Microbiology and Pharmacology.
