BDS Orthodontics full form is Bachelor of Dental Surgery in Orthodontics, and is an undergraduate four-year course about the basic medicine and the major aspects of dentistry. The course offers in-depth training about dental (teeth-related) health and problems that enables the graduate to diagnose and treat various dental ailments. Orthodontics is a specialized branch of dentistry that teaches about the diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of misaligned teeth and jaws, also known as malocclusion.

 

The Eligibility Criteria for BDS Orthodontics include having cleared 10+2 examination with a minimum 50% of marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology subjects in the Science stream, with 5% relaxation for the reserved category. In order to be eligible for BDS, a minimum of 50% marks is required in NEET (National Eligibility and Entrance Test).

 

The course fee for BDS Orthodontics ranges from INR 2 LPA – 5 LPA, with government colleges having lower fees, while private colleges have higher fees in the range of INR 10- 20 LPA.
