TANCET 2025 Cutoff: The cutoff is the minimum qualifying score required for the exam. The TANCET cut off is derived using a variety of parameters, including the total number of candidates who applied, the number of seats available, the difficulty level of the question papers, and so on. Cutoffs vary per programme and college. TANCET member institutes admit students based on their cutoff results. However, cutoff scores are not made public beforehand. DTE, Chennai publishes the cutoff ranks and percentile scores from the previous closed session, along with counselling information.

Factors Determining the TANCET Cutoff

As it was realized over the years that there are variables over cut-offs marks in TANCET and changeable every year. Further, the factors that bring about these cut-off marks are mainly covered below:

  • Reservation Criteria - Candidates from the general category generally face higher cut-off marks in comparison to the cut-offs required by candidates belonging to the reserved categories, that is, ST, OBC, and SC. Whenever the number of candidates exceeds the number of available seats, a rise in cut-off marks for all categories is expected and vice versa when the scenario is opposite.
  • Number of Seats Available - The number of available seats has a significant impact on the cut-off scores. The cut-off scores are likely to be much higher if the candidates appearing for TANCET exams outnumber the seats available. The cut-off scores are likely to be lower if relatively fewer candidates appear compared to the available seats.
  • Total Number of Appearing Candidates - The actual number of candidates who appear for the exam plays a crucial role in determining the cut-off scores; a higher number of appearing candidates typically results in higher cut-off scores, and vice versa.
  • Difficulty Level of the Question Paper - Lower marks imply a difficulty level and higher cut-off marks occur with easier marks. But there's minimal scope for sharp variations when difficulty is matched. For the past ten years, the level of difficulty in papers has always fallen under moderate to difficult.

TANCET 2025 Cutoff FAQs

What is the TANCET 2025 cutoff?

The TANCET 2025 cutoff signifies the minimum score necessary for admission into various postgraduate programs at colleges in Tamil Nadu. This cutoff is subject to change each year, influenced by factors such as the difficulty of the exam, the number of candidates, and the availability of seats.

How is the TANCET cutoff established?

The cutoff is decided based on the number of applicants appearing for the exam, the toughness level of the exam, the number of seats available, and the performance of the students in general.

When will the TANCET 2025 cutoff be released?

The cutoff is usually declared after the declaration of the TANCET results. Students must regularly check the official Anna University website for any updates.

Are the cutoffs different for different categories?

Yes, TANCET cutoffs differ with categories like General, OBC, SC, and ST. However, reserved categories typically have lower cutoffs.

How do I get the TANCET 2025 cutoff?

The cutoff is available in the official website of TANCET after publishing, or on the portals of the respective participating institutions once they are made available by the institution concerned.

What if my score is below the cutoff?

If your score falls below the cutoff, you may not be eligible to get admission into some institutions. Still, you can always look for other colleges with lower cutoffs or may well reappear the following year.

Can TANCET have sectional cuts?

Ideally, TANCET does not follow sectional cuts; it entirely depends on how well a person will perform in it.

Can cut-off for the TANCET be changed subsequently after its issuance for this program?

Once the cutoff is declared, usually nothing happens. In extraordinary circumstances, cutoffs do get altered at times by the management and based on the seats that are left empty.

How to increase my chance of meeting the TANCET 2025 cutoff?

Improve your prospects by creating a schedule for your study and reviewing previous examination papers, practice tests, and comprehension of the fundamental subjects relevant to the examination.
