Subject Selection Framework for DU SOL Admission

The School of Open Learning follows the subject combination guidelines established by the University of Delhi for undergraduate admissions. All candidates must select subjects from List A (mandatory languages) and List B (domain-specific optional subjects) to meet eligibility criteria for their chosen program. These subject combinations ensure students develop both linguistic competency and specialised disciplinary knowledge.

Benefit / Fee Waiver

Financial Support Scheme (FSS)

Students with an annual family income below ₹8,00,000 (based on income certificate).

Up to 100% fee waiver for income below ₹4,00,000; up to 50% waiver for income ₹4–8 lakh. (Excluding exam/university dues)

PwBD (Persons with Benchmark Disabilities)

Minimum 40% disability, with a valid certificate.

Pay only ₹130; complete waiver of other fees.

Orphan Students

Must provide proof of orphan status.

Pay only ₹20 (₹10 admission + ₹10 exam fee).

Transgender Students

Valid identification as transgender.

Pay only ₹20; full waiver of all other fees.

Armed Forces & CAPF Category

Applicable to serving, retired (within 5 years), and wards of personnel.

75% fee waiver for serving, 50% for recently retired, 25% for wards (excluding university dues).

University / SOL Employees & Wards

Permanent / Adhoc / Contractual staff and their children.

Employees: Full fee concession (except university dues); Wards: 50% fee concession.

Meritorious Female Students

Based on outstanding academic performance (as per DU norms).

Partial or full fee concession, as decided by the university.

SC/ST Students (Financial Assistance)

Must belong to the SC/ST community.

Assistance as per DU and Government of India guidelines.

Sports Excellence Awards

Winners/Participants in recognized national or international sports events.

100% fee waiver (International/National games) to 25% (State level); cash awards from ₹5,000–₹75,000.

Book Bank Facility

Family income below ₹2.5 lakh per annum.

Up to 4 free textbooks per semester from Book Bank.

Refund Eligibility

 

Required Documents

Withdrawal/cancellation within the notified last date of admission

Refund of total fees after deduction of ₹500 as administrative charges, OR as per prevailing UGC/DEB/University norms

Withdrawal after the last date of admission

No refund applicable

Note: The refunded amount will be credited exclusively to the bank account of either the student or their guardian. Processing the refund may take up to 15 working days after submitting a duly filled and accurate application form.
