What is the GATE 2026 Registration Date And Time?

Based on the official notice released by IIT Guwahati, the GATE 2026 Application forms are to be made available from August 25, 2025 till September 25, 2025. And the GATE 2026 Exam is to be conducted on February 7, 8, 14, and 15. Candidates planning to appear for the upcoming eczema can go through the table given below:

GATE 2026 Exam Eligibility Criteria

Meeting the GATE 2026 Eligibility Criteria is very important for candidates planning to appear for the exam. A detailed course-wise eligibility criteria has been given below for candidates to have a look:

Candidates must have completed or be in the 3rd year or higher of a 4-year Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Technology, or Pharmacy.

B.Arch.

Must be in the 3rd year or later of a 5-year degree in Architecture or a 4-year program in Naval Architecture/Planning.

B.Sc. (Research) / B.S.

Candidates pursuing a 4-year Science degree must be in the 3rd year or beyond.

B.Sc. / B.A. / B.Com.

Must be in the 3rd year or have completed a 3-year Bachelor's degree in Science, Arts, or Commerce.

B.Sc. (Agriculture, Horticulture, Forestry)

Must be in the 3rd or 4th year or have completed a 4-year degree in relevant fields.

PG and Professional Degrees

M.Sc. / M.A. / MCA or Equivalent

Candidates should be in the 1st year or higher of a relevant Master's degree in Science, Arts, Computer Applications, or related fields.

M.B.B.S. / B.D.S. / B.V.Sc.

Must be in the 5th, 6th, or 7th semester or beyond the degree program.

Pharm. D. (Post 10+2)

Should be in the 3rd year or beyond of a 6-year integrated Doctor of Pharmacy program.

Integrated / Dual Degree Programs

Integrated M.E. / M.Tech. (Post-B.Sc.)

Must be in the 1st to 4th year of the 4-year integrated program.

Integrated M.E. / M.Tech. / M.Pharm. or Dual Degree (Post 10+2/Diploma)

Candidates should be in the 3rd, 4th, or 5th year of the 5-year program.

Integrated M.Sc. / B.S.-M.S.

Candidates must be in the 3rd year or higher of the 5-year integrated program.

Professional Society Exams

AMIE, AMICE, etc.

Documents Required for GATE 2026 Registration

During the GATE 2026 Registration, candidates need to make sure that they have all the documents mentioned below in the given format:

Steps to Apply using GATE Candidate Login 2026

The GATE 2026 Application will be done online through the GOAPS portal. Candidates are required to register, fill in the form, upload documents, and pay the fee to complete the application process.

  1. Candidates need to visit the official GOAPS portal and register by entering their name, date of birth, email address, and mobile number. After this, an Enrollment ID will be generated, and a password has to be created for login.
  2. After getting registered, candidates have to log in and fill in all required details such as academic qualifications, parent’s information, choice of exam paper, and preferred exam cities.
  3. Scanned copies of the photograph, signature, valid ID, and supporting certificates must be uploaded in the specified format.
  4. The next step is paying the GATE 2026 application fee online through debit card, credit card, net banking, or UPI. A Fee Payment Number will be generated after a successful transaction.
  5. Also, the candidates need to confirm the declaration and submit the form. The completed application should be downloaded and saved in PDF format for future use.
