Admission: Sequence of steps at BIT Mesra felt structured, with mostly clear counselling after JEE Main, timely seat allotment, efficient verification despite minor queues, and helpful staff during registration and fee payment.
Academic: Teachers here are a mixed bag, some departments have very chill faculty but others are super strict with their teaching and everything. For semester exams, if you study properly, they are actually pretty easy, and seniors also share lots of helpful resources. Honestly, the engineering course syllabus anywhere isn't fully relevant, so you really need to work hard on your own to be ready for the industry.
Placement: This year's placements are looking pretty good, you know. Our EEE department actually hit 100% placements for their batch. For Computer Science, I asked some seniors and they said around 60-70% of students are placed so far. Also, I heard the highest package this year is something like 80 LPA.
Campus: In my college, the classrooms are pretty good, they have digital smart classes which is nice. The library here is also good. We get Wi-Fi facilities 24/7 and the speed is generally okay. About the mess food, well, it's like usual, sometimes it's really good but other times it can be a nightmare. Medical facilities are decent too, with a dispensary open every day. Also, for sports, every hostel has facilities for games like badminton, table tennis, carrom, and volleyball.

Admission: Application to BIT Mesra remained organized, as merit list checking and counselling went well, document verification was thorough with helpful staff, and orientation details were communicated clearly.
Academic: I like is that our teachers are really experienced and know a lot. They teach only things that are useful for our course. Exams here are not that tough, mostly they ask basic questions. All topics from books and presentation slides get covered, and we usually get 10 questions in the paper.
Placement: Talking about placements here, about 60 students from our batch of 120 got placed, but keep in mind these were only for internships, not proper full-time jobs. In total, 80 students from our batch secured internships. The average salary package for these was 5 LPA, with the highest offer touching around 25 LPA. Big companies like Google, Microsoft, and Porter visited our campus, plus a lot of other top startups came for hiring. Mostly, the roles offered were in software and front-end development.
Campus: In our college, the infrastructure is really good. All the facilities like Wi-Fi, labs, and classrooms are too good and you can use them whenever you need. We also have good games and gym areas. But, the food in some hostels is not up to the mark. Also, the network here is not always good, sometimes it's okay, but it's not consistent.

Admission: Approach to BIT Mesra admissions was organized, with a user-friendly portal, timely notifications for merit lists and counselling, quick verification, smooth registration, and a helpful orientation start.
Academic: What I like most about my college is the faculty. Our teachers are really good and know their subjects very well. They are also quite nice to students. We have some great visiting faculty too, and workshops happen very often. There might be a little bias sometimes, but that's something you see in almost every college, I feel. The teaching quality is decent, but I do think the fees are a bit high. Still, with good facilities and decent teaching, it's easy to achieve good overall development here.
Placement: From my experience, placements here are generally just average. But sometimes, decent companies do come for recruitment, and you can get a good job. It's definitely better for core industries if you're looking for jobs there, compared to IT industries. Getting a job is quite tough, but if you manage to clear all the rounds, the offers are usually good. Overall, I'd say it's fine, not super amazing. You can get things done here, but you really have to work hard. It's not a walk in the park.
Campus: Honestly, this college is pretty decent. The facilities for our specific course are really good here. When it comes to the hostel, the rooms are a bit small and old-fashioned, so it takes some time to settle in, but you eventually get used to it. The maintenance for the hostel is just okay. I really like our college temple, it's kept very well and has good stuff. Our department is also nice. All the roads and other facilities around campus are good. Everything generally works well together here.

Admission: Eligibility based entry into BIT Mesra was smooth, as the JEE Main cutoff was met, the counselling portal was easy to use, verification was thorough with supportive staff, and orientation removed any confusion.
Academic: In our college, every student gets a mentor, which is nice. The B.Tech curriculum is pretty much like what you find everywhere else. All the teachers are well qualified, and the ones from the mechanical branch are really understanding and liberal. Our semester exams are fair, and they follow a relative grading system.
Placement: Our college's placements, especially for this branch, aren't the best if we talk about on-campus jobs only. Still, almost 40% of students from our batch did manage to get placed. The average salary package we saw this year was around 8 to 9 LPA. Most students in our branch get their internships in the third year, and Reliance Company is a common place for that.
Campus: The campus life here is really good. We get Wi-Fi all over, in the college and even in our hostel. The mess food is quite good actually, especially compared to other places. Plus, there's smart laundry available in the hostels. They also give free medical help if you need it. Our library has both digital and normal reading rooms too.

Admission: System at BIT Mesra functioned smoothly through JoSAA counselling, with organized document verification, helpful staff, clear communication on registration and fee deadlines, and an overall hassle-free onboarding.
Academic: About the teachers here, they can be a bit strict sometimes but also friendly. Just don't cause any trouble, and if you have good conduct, they really help you out. Overall, I feel the faculty is excellent. Talking about fees, it's around 2,00,000 rupees for each semester. But for the first semester, about 1,00,000 rupees is already adjusted as it was paid during JoSAA or CSAB counselling. This fee includes everything from your hostel stay to your mess food. The tuition part itself is roughly 1,30,000 rupees. Plus, there's a free bus service right outside the campus. In total, for all four years, you might end up paying somewhere between 18 to 20 lakh rupees. If you put in your best effort, it's definitely worth the cost.
Placement: When it comes to placements, BIT MESRA does a pretty good job. Like, for the EEE branch, about 88% of students got placed in the 2023 academic year, with some even getting really good offers up to 50 LPA. Even big companies like JP Morgan come to our college for campus placements. If you are someone who wants to try new things, there are many opportunities for startups too. Plus, keeping in touch with seniors from earlier batches can really help you get more off-campus placements, which were around 1.2 CPA last year for BIT MESRA. Honestly, if you are dedicated and ready to work hard, BIT is a solid choice, way better than many NITs.
Campus: At our college, we get free Wi-Fi everywhere, even in the hostels, and every student gets their own password. This full campus Wi-Fi is something we are very proud of. About the food, it's okay in the hostel, and we students can suggest changes to the menu. They also pick a mess secretary from the hostel students. Our GP Birla Auditorium is super big, actually one of the top 5 biggest in India. You won't find it tough to get stuff because there are many shops inside the campus for almost everything. Plus, there's this cool place called IC, a small hill with food stores literally everywhere you look.

Admission: Selection at BIT Mesra felt well-managed, with an organized flow from merit list to document verification, supportive staff during registration, a clear online portal, and an informative orientation session.
Academic: Regarding the teachers, some are quite helpful and really good with their subjects, they have solid knowledge. On the other hand, a few can be a bit rude and egoistic. For the exams, the pattern is set like this: quizzes are for 20 marks, mid-semester exams are 25 marks, and end-semester exams are 50 marks. This exam structure is good overall. But, you really need to know your subject well to pass these semester exams; it is not easy without good knowledge.
Placement: I am in my 2nd year and 4th semester right now, and my journey here has been quite good. I felt so happy when I got admission to this college. When I joined, placements were also good, with packages touching 12 LPA. The overall placement and internship scene has been decent all these years, though there was a bit recession time during Covid-19, but apart from that, it is all good.
Campus: The campus here is massive, spread across 780 acres, which is just huge! Honestly, you won't find a more adventurous or beautiful place. Our college infrastructure is really great and decent overall. We have nice classrooms, a really big library, and a good gymnasium. The main block is also pretty good. And the faculty? They are super educated, many have PhDs from big institutes in our country.

Admission: Pathway through BIT Mesra admissions felt streamlined, with clearly explained counselling, quick seat allotment, patient staff during slightly time-consuming verification, prompt registration, and efficient communication throughout.
Academic: Classes at our college run from 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM, and we get good breaks in between. Each class period is maximum one hour long. The teachers here are very helpful and most of them have their own rooms, which is nice. All our faculty members also have Ph.D. degrees, so they are super qualified. For exams, let me tell you, semester exams are quite tough and they check our answer sheets very strictly.
Placement: For placements at Birla Institute of Technology, Ranchi, things are looking good. Around 70% of students get placed from our college. We see top companies like Google and Microsoft coming for recruitment, with Google being a major recruiter. The highest salary package offered was 50 LPA, and the lowest was 8 LPA. Also, about 60% of students got internships, and good roles are offered.
Campus: For the Computer Science Engineering department, the infrastructure is quite good. All classrooms have projectors and Wi-Fi, which is really helpful for studies. We also have labs available for our practicals. Overall, the college provides good facilities and equipment to support us in computer and engineering innovation.

Admission: Flow of admission at BIT Mesra remained positive, with straightforward online registration, efficient verification during counselling, helpful staff for doubts, timely merit list updates, and a smooth overall experience.
Academic: Getting good grades here needs some self-study because teachers usually dont cover everything in class. Some teachers are really good and helpful, but others just write on the board and then leave, so it's a bit mixed. The exams, though, are not too hard at all. You can easily pass if you just pay a little bit of attention during lectures. And if you put in more effort than that, getting excellent marks is totally possible.
Placement: In terms of placements, not many companies visit our campus. Mostly, sales companies come here and they hire a lot of students at once, but the package they offer is usually just 3 LPA. The highest package ever recorded was around 38 LPA, and a senior got this from PayPal. PayPal also hired one girl from our college just because of her good grades and knowledge, that's all.
Campus: Talking about facilities, the cleanliness in our college is really good. The mess food is also quite tasty, actually better than what you find in most other hostels. We have a nice sports ground too, and the canteen is just alright. However, there's no Wi-Fi in the college at all. And in the hostel, even though we get internet through LAN cables, it keeps disconnecting and the speed is very slow. One big issue is the medical facility; it's not good because they give the same medicine for any health problem.

Admission: Journey at BIT Mesra turned out smooth overall, with an easy to navigate online counselling portal, hassle-free document verification, helpful staff, clear registration steps, and an orientation that gave a solid overview.
Academic: In my college, teachers are mostly good. Some teachers are super helpful, always ready to guide us, while a few others are okay, but everyone tries their best to help students as much as they can. All of them know a lot about their subjects. Also, they are very approachable; we can just visit their office whenever we need. Plus point is, they give mentors to students for mental health support.
Placement: Placements in our college are quite good. This year, more than 80% of students got placed right from campus. The remaining students either went for higher studies or found jobs outside the college. The average salary package was 10 LPA, which is pretty decent. A student from mechanical engineering even got the highest package of 23 LPA! Many big companies, including consulting firms and tech giants like Microsoft, visited our campus and gave job offers.
Campus: The campus here is super green and nice, it feels good to be away from all the pollution. Plus, some rivers go through the campus which makes the evenings really awesome. Our main building is kept very well. But the hostels definitely need some improvements. And the library's air conditioning is still not fixed, that's an issue. Also, there are many new construction works going on around the campus.

Admission: Route to admission at BIT Mesra was clear, as online counselling after the merit list was structured, campus verification went smoothly, staff support was ample, and communication around timelines was prompt.
Academic: The teachers here are really helpful and qualified, they know a lot about their subjects, which makes the teaching quality very good. Our course curriculum is super relevant too, it totally makes students ready for jobs in the industry. But passing the semester exams is quite tough, you know. And if anyone gets caught cheating in an exam, they will face big problems, almost like getting a semester back.
Placement: In my course, students mostly get jobs as Graduate Engineer Trainee or Analyst. Roughly 85% of us get placed, which is pretty good. The highest salary someone got was 12 LPA. Top companies like ZS Associates and Tata Steel often come to hire from our college. Sadly, only about 3% of students manage to get internships.
Campus: Our college has really good Wi-Fi, labs, and classrooms. Hostel cleanliness is also quite nice here. We get good access to medical help, sports, and games facilities. When it comes to food, the quality is generally good, but honestly, the taste isn't always great. The mess menu is decided completely by the mess committee, and you'll probably find potatoes in nearly every vegetable dish they serve.
