The library provides access to current resources including books, journals, and reference materials related to hotel management, catering, and nutrition disciplines.

Students benefit from a collection of latest available resources covering various aspects of hospitality administration. The library space is designed to support both individual study and research activities for undergraduate and postgraduate programs in hospitality management.

IHM Chandigarh Facilities: Other Facilities

The campus infrastructure encompasses multiple specialized training facilities essential for comprehensive hospitality education. All classrooms and computer laboratories are fully air-conditioned to ensure comfortable learning environments throughout the academic year.

The institute operates a state-of-the-art computer lab with capacity for 40 students simultaneously, featuring individual PC stations that enable faculty to focus on personalized learning outcomes. The campus provides high-speed Wi-Fi connectivity across academic and residential areas, facilitating digital learning and research activities.

Practical training facilities include advanced food production labs equipped with modern kitchen technology such as convection ovens and sous-vide machines. The F&B service labs feature mock restaurant setups with POS systems and training bars, allowing students hands-on experience with industry-standard equipment. Additional specialized facilities include a bakery lab, larder kitchen, patisserie lab, training restaurant, automated laundry facility, and front office lab for comprehensive skill development.

The campus cafeteria provides dining services for day scholars and faculty members. Medical facilities are integrated into campus operations, with a qualified medical practitioner visiting during lunch hours on all working days and remaining available on call for hostel residents after institute hours. Standard first aid facilities are maintained in practical laboratories for immediate emergency response.

IHM Chandigarh Facilities: Sports & Recreation

The institute recognizes that working in the hotel industry demands robust physical health alongside academic excellence. Sports and recreational facilities are integrated into both the main campus and hostel complex to promote student wellness and physical fitness.

The hostel complex features dedicated sports facilities including a basketball court, badminton court, and table tennis areas. These facilities are accessible to resident students for regular physical activity and informal competitions. A gym equipped with state-of-the-art equipment operates within the hostel premises, enabling students to maintain fitness routines as part of their daily schedule.

IHM Chandigarh Facilities: Innovation & Research

The institute emphasizes practical skill development through specialized clubs and hands-on training opportunities. The Kitchen Club Services functions as a platform where students learn different culinary techniques and explore varieties of dishes from appetizers to desserts, including professional presentation methods.

This club drives sustainable food practices through skill development and encourages students to achieve higher professional goals. Students work collaboratively to plan events, enhance their technical skills, and develop creativity while building self-esteem and teamwork capabilities. The training environment integrates classroom theoretical knowledge with direct practical application in institute-managed facilities.

IHM Chandigarh Hostel Facilities

The institute operates a fully functional hostel complex within the campus premises, providing accommodation for 102 boys and 102 girls on a triple-sharing basis. Room allocation follows a merit-based system determined by NCHMCT JEE rankings for first-year students and NCHMCT term-end examination results for second and third-year students.

The hostel mess is managed jointly by the institute and students, providing practical opportunities for students to apply classroom learning in real operational settings. A dedicated Hostel Warden oversees residential operations, supported by student proctors for both boys and girls hostels, with additional assistance from a Hostel Committee. Students unable to secure institute hostel accommodation due to limited capacity receive institutional support in finding private hostel arrangements in nearby localities on a sharing basis.

Mess food quality and hygiene are maintained at acceptable standards, with cooking arrangements following sanitary protocols appropriate for hospitality training environments. The hostel implements attendance policies and dress codes, with rule violations addressed through parental communication. Female students enjoy outside movement privileges within restricted timings as per institutional guidelines.

IHM Chandigarh Events & Festivals

The institute maintains a moderately busy calendar with regular events scheduled throughout the academic year. Campus activities typically include cultural programs, culinary competitions, and hospitality industry interactions that complement formal classroom education.

The Kitchen Club Services organizes periodic demonstrations and competitions where students showcase culinary creativity and technical proficiency. These events provide platforms for peer learning, industry networking, and skill exhibition while fostering collaborative spirit among students across different academic years.
