Admission: My admission at Government Dental College & Hospital was quite smooth and organised. After NEET counselling, the steps were clearly explained, and document verification went without trouble. The staff helped during registration after the merit list, and the orientation session cleared most doubts about joining.

Academic: Our college teachers are helpful. They give us everything we need to study. Many of them actually studied in this same college before. They always help us with any kind of issues or doubts we have. Exams here are not too tough, like medium level, and the passing percentage is 50%.

Placement: Our college has only 64 seats for the BDS course. Almost every student gets a chance for an internship here, which is great. For the internship, they pay 18,000 rupees. If you continue with a PG course, the payment goes up, with a minimum of 70,000 rupees. Also, the government itself recruits students based on their percentage.

Campus: Our college has two big buildings, and Wi-Fi is available for everyone. Both the practical halls and lecture rooms are quite spacious, fitted with all the necessary electrical things. We have a good e-library and a normal library too, which anyone can use. The hostel rooms here are also big compared to other places, and the washrooms are always clean with proper electrical fittings. The mess food is just okay, but we have a huge ground in college where we play lots of games like volleyball, badminton, and cricket.

Placement: From my experience, since it's a government medical college, they don't have job placements here. Instead, we get good chances to learn and treat patients right inside our college hospital. They give us internship opportunities for practical experience, not like getting a job directly. So, placements are basically not available at our college.

Campus: The college has good facilities and infrastructure. They provide us with many instruments and tools so students can get good at their subjects. In the hostel, each room fits three people, and each student gets a table, chair, bed, and a cupboard for themselves.

Placement: For job opportunities, the placements and salary packages in this field are super good. Many of my batchmates and seniors who have good practical knowledge got excellent packages. If you understand the basic stuff about your clinic, you can practice well and earn nicely. From our batch of 150 students, a good 95 of us passed in the very first try. I was also part of this big batch. Some of my friends started their own clinics right after internship. At first, they didn't earn much, but now, after three or four years, they are making good money. Others decided to study more for post-graduation. After two years of hard work, they got admission in government dental hospitals and even get a stipend of around 60,000. It might be tough initially, but after some years, you can totally make good money. My colleagues who completed their post-graduation are now earning like 3-4 Lacs every month. Ultimately, how much you earn depends on your skills.

Campus: What I like is that our campus is big. You get most facilities right there in the hostel. We have a library on the ground floor, which has lots of important books, and it's open from 9 am to 5 pm in college hours. You need a library card to take books and then return them. They have like 5,000 books related to dental stuff. The library is a calm place for reading, and there's a separate reading room too, with chairs and tables next to it. Free Wi-Fi is there for students and staff, and it's fast. There's also a big garden on campus. But about the hostels, they are not clean, and there are no dustbins. For security, it's not a problem at all. CCTV cameras are working properly and installed in every corner of the hostel and hospital.

After finishing, most graduates either go for post-graduation or open their own private clinic. Interestingly, many of the professors and even the dean have studied at this same college. So, you might even get a chance to work as staff here at the college or hospital later on.

Campus: From my experience here, the college has a very good library, and we also have an e-library for online stuff. All our classrooms and labs are in good condition and always kept neat. If you're staying in the hostel, you'll share a room with three or four other students. We always have electricity, so no power issues. The medical facilities for students are also good, and the staff is very helpful.
