Admission: Some faculty members, like former ship captains and chief engineers, are great. But most of the others are pretty useless. They act like they know everything, but they don't really know much. There's this one teacher called Muralidharan who just causes drama and makes students fight instead of teaching.

Placement: The college says they offer placements but it's not true. There are no real placements or internships. Instead, they bring in agents who ask for money. The faculty from the marine stream are not very good. Most of them are useless, and students often know more than the junior faculty.

Campus: The workshops are cool. But the canteen and food quality suck. Hostel rooms are nice though. The campus looks good from outside, but education and other stuff are not so great. The library and ship on campus are the best parts. There's a swimming pool, but it's empty.

Admission: The teachers at this college are pretty good. If you don't act right, you might run into issues. Some teachers are only around for a bit and don't teach much, but they still expect a lot from you. The coursework tends to drag on. Overall, the teachers could be better and more experienced.

Placement: This college doesn't help with getting a job after you finish the course. You gotta find one by yourself. You can use an agent to help you find a job, or the college can find you one for a fee. If you're good enough, you can directly apply to companies and pass the interviews. If you're lucky, you might get a job. If not, you'll need a reference to land one.

Campus: The college has four buildings. One is for the hostel, the others are for classes and some floors have hostel rooms too. But the water, food, and electricity are not great. No Wi-Fi here! The classrooms have CCTV. There's a library and canteen in one of the buildings.

Admission: The teachers here are super experienced, with lots of them being ex-mariners and captains. They really know their stuff and share cool stories from their time at sea. They teach us really well and make learning enjoyable.

Placement: Only the top 25 students got placement at our college. They had to pass with high marks to be eligible. These days, companies conduct exams for hiring. Big names like Marsek, MSC, and Cosco have hired students from our college for jobs.

Campus: My college campus is pretty cool. We have 5 buildings here. One big building is for classes, another is for the hostel. There's also a building for the canteen and one for the library. In our hostel, we have a mess on the ground floor where we eat. The college offers different marine courses like DNS, BSc (nautical science), B.Tech (marine engineering), GP rating, etc. Each course has its own teachers and classrooms with good facilities. What's really neat is that we have a swimming pool on campus. Plus, there are lots of sports facilities like basketball, football, cricket, rugby, table tennis, and badminton courts. It's pretty awesome!

Admission: The teachers in my course aren't very qualified. They do know their stuff, but the teaching quality is pretty bad. They mostly use PPTs for classes. The student-to-faculty ratio is around 40:1, which is not great. I didn't really get any real-world experience in the industry. On the upside, though, the course curriculum was really helpful.

Placement: If you're looking for a college with good placement opportunities, this might not be the best choice. Companies don't really come here for recruitment. They do offer internships, but without any pay. There's no proper placement cell to help students out. So, if you're thinking about joining, just be aware that you might have to look for jobs on your own after graduating.

Campus: I'd rate it 8 out of 10. The college has Wi-Fi for everyone. The labs are in good shape. The library is decent, but not many books. Medical help isn't provided by the college. Sports facilities are great with grounds for cricket, football, and basketball.

Admission: The faculty at our college were top-notch while I was there. They were strict but also really helpful. Whether it was the captains, chief engineers, or workshop staff, they were all great at what they did. I learned so much from them. I'd give them a 5/5 rating without a doubt. Captain Suresh and Captain Kohli were especially awesome. They totally deserve it.

Placement: The college is pretty good overall, but the placements are lacking. The faculty is awesome, and the campus is really nice. But they don't organize any campus interviews for placements. I'd give the placements a 2 out of 5. If they start providing placements, this college would be top-notch.

Campus: The college's infrastructure is awesome! They've got top-notch facilities like fields, hostels, workshops, and classrooms. Everything is just perfect. Oh, and they even have a football ground and two basketball courts. I'd give the infrastructure a solid 5 out of 5. It's definitely the best compared to other colleges out there.

Admission: The teachers at this college are super helpful and really know their stuff. They've got about 3 to 4 years of experience each, which is great. Their friendly attitude makes learning easy, and they're all well-educated and qualified.

Placement: The job placements here aren't great. But if you know someone, you can land a job because the college offers Indian CDC. If you're struggling, the college offers help to secure a job with 100% placement guarantee for a fee. The jobs are legit and reliable.

Campus: The campus has good facilities, but the lifts in the hostel are always out of order. Despite that, the hostel is always clean and neat. It's an 8-floor hostel where everyone lives except first-year students. They have their own hostel. The mess is in one spot for all years, but each year has different meal times. Plus, it's a boys hostel.

Admission: The teachers at our college don't stick to a set syllabus. What they teach doesn't show up in the exams. Grading papers is a mess. And there's no clear way to request a reevaluation.

Placement: The college doesn't help much with placements. It's all up to us students to find jobs. We end up going to shipping companies and dealing with fake agents. Some of us even pay a big fee, around 4 to 6 lakh. There's no proper placement support from the college at all.

Campus: The mattresses and pillows in our college really smell bad. We only get water for a short time in the morning and evening. The drinking water is not good. The food is cooked in a dirty way and tastes bad. They use cheap veggies and beans. We don't have Wi-Fi or good medical help here.

Admission: The teachers at International Maritime Academy are really good. They have different teachers for each course. The B.Tech marine engineering class is taught by chief engineers. Captains handle the B.Sc in nautical science, and chief naval architects and marine drawing engineers teach naval architecture.

Placement: This college doesn't offer placements, but they have connections with different industries. If you want a job, you need to pay a fee at the admin office. If you need help with placements, just talk to the admin office and they'll sort it out for you.

Campus: The International Maritime Academy has a great setup. They've got their own tall building with all the facilities. The marine course has its own block, and there's a hostel block for students. They even have a separate building just for the library. It's all pretty cool and convenient.

Admission: The teachers here are a mix. Some are great, some not so much. The marine department teachers are awesome at explaining marine stuff, but the others are just okay. All our teachers have good experience and know their stuff. IMA has a 4-year B.Tech in marine engineering, a 3-year B.Sc in nautical science, a 1-year DNS, and a 6-month GP rating course.

Placement: The college doesn't help with placements. You gotta find a job on your own. You can use an agent or a reference, or just apply directly to companies. But if you don't know anyone, you might end up paying around 3 to 4 lakhs to get a job. The job scene here isn't great.

Campus: Our campus has everything we need for DGS requirements. There's a ship on-campus, a bridge room, an engine room simulator lab, a swimming pool, mechanical and electrical labs, a GP marine maintenance shop, a seamanship lab, a hostel building, and a DNS marine maintenance shop. It's got all the facilities we need for our studies.

Admission: The teachers here are not the best (6/10). Sometimes we didn't even have a teacher for the whole semester. The courses are okay (7/10), but they could be better. They need to improve and focus more on this.

Placement: The college doesn't help with job placements after graduation. They only focus on giving you a degree. They say companies will come to hire students, but it never happens. No companies come here to recruit students, so it's not worth it. If you have no other choice for maritime courses, then you can consider this college as a last resort. But I suggest looking at other colleges instead.

Campus: I'd give the campus a 7 out of 10 and the hostel a 4 out of 10. The campus is getting better each day, so I'm hopeful it will improve soon. The college buildings are decent, but the hostel facilities need work. Living there was just about surviving, not really enjoying it. Looking back, I feel like my four years were kind of wasted.
