Indian Institute of Food Processing Technology (IIFPT), now officially known as National Institute of Food Technology, Entrepreneurship and Management–Thanjavur (NIFTEM-T), is a premier public research and educational institution located in Thanjavur, Tamil Nadu. Established in 1967 as the Paddy Processing Research Centre, it operates under the Ministry of Food Processing Industries, Government of India. The institute achieved Institute of National Importance (INI) status in 2021 and is recognized for its advanced research, NABL-accredited laboratories, and flagship programs in Food Process Engineering. With a student strength of approximately 600+ and a robust faculty, IIFPT/NIFTEM-T is a leader in food technology education and innovation.
