3 Sept, 2025 : GATE 2026 registration commences from 28 August 2025. IIT Guwahati will conduct the exam on February 7, 8, 14, and 15.

IIT Bhilai offers various courses at UG, PG, and PhD levels. The IIT Bhilai courses include BTech, MTech, MSc, and PhD. The IIT Bhilai admission to these courses are based on the scores of the entrance exams. JEE Main and JEE Advanced for BTech courses. The centralized JoSAA (Joint Seat Allocation Authority) counseling process, where seats are distributed based on merit and preferences, is attended by students based on their JEE Advanced rank. While M.Sc. program admissions are made through IIT JAM, with seat distribution managed by CCMN counseling, postgraduate admissions for M.Tech programs are made based on GATE scores, followed by counseling via COAP (Common Offer Acceptance Portal). Ph.D. programs in engineering, science, and interdisciplinary fields are also available at the institute. A valid national-level exam score, such as GATE, UGC-NET, CSIR-JRF, or an equivalent, and a relevant postgraduate degree are prerequisites for these. The relevant department will then conduct a written test or in-person interview.
