Admission: Joining IIT ISM Dhanbad via JoSAA counselling was standard, and though the admission portal had minor glitches, document verification at the centre was well-managed with mostly helpful staff, and final registration and fee submission went smoothly.

Academic: Faculty at our college are qualified for sure, but they aren't very helpful and don't give us the right knowledge needed for the future. The syllabus is quite old with outdated technologies, and even though exams aren't too difficult, teachers don't cover important topics properly. Different things appear in the exams, and paper checking is not done thoroughly, which makes exam time tough for students.

Placement: Recruiters are quite keen on hiring from our course, which is great. Because of this, placements are really high here. Students get good salary packages, from 3 LPA as the minimum up to 16 LPA as the maximum. Plus, almost 80% of us get internships too, and these are with big names like Wipro and even Railways.

Campus: Campus infrastructure in my college is really great, probably the best compared to others around here. You can use Wi-Fi all over the place, classrooms are super clean, and the library has a lot of good books. Even the washrooms are clean, but the hostel facilities are not good at all, and the food there is honestly the worst. Sports facilities, though, are quite good.

Placement: Something I really like about our college is the placements. They are honestly pretty solid. For B.Tech students, in 2024, 76.37% got placed, which is a good number. The overall highest package offered was 66 LPA CTC. In my branch, Mechanical, 72.37% of students got jobs. For us, the highest package went up to 51 LPA CTC, and the lowest was 6.5 LPA. It's also nice to see that the number of students getting placed keeps increasing every year. So yeah, generally, placements here are quite decent.

Campus: Infrastructure in our college is decent. Some hostels are old but still usable, and newer hostels have excellent facilities. Mess food is okay but can be reported if there's an issue. Canteen food is good and cheap. Sports facilities include two big grounds and one smaller one, plus badminton and basketball courts in every hostel.

About internships, they are okay, but it's hard to get one in our core field. Still, some students managed to get internships in non-core roles. The top jobs we get are often process engineer, project engineer, and product engineer.

Campus: History-wise, my college is getting really old, almost 100 years in 2026. Some hostels are average because they are old, but others are very good. Our library is super big, actually the world's second-largest technical library. We have 24-hour Wi-Fi, good classrooms, serious labs, and all basic needs like a big ground, medical centre, and canteen.

Academic: Guidance in our course is really good because teachers help us a lot and know so much about their subjects. Their teaching quality feels extraordinary, and this course fully prepares us for industry jobs.

Placement: Results for placements in 2023 were really impressive for our course. Around 81.31% of the students got placed, which is quite a good number. The highest salary package offered was 56 lacs, and the average salary was about 16.98 lacs. The median salary also stood good at 15 lacs. Many big companies came to our campus for recruitment. We had top companies like Microsoft, Tata Metaliks, Tata Power, Tata Steel, American Express, Ram Group, Schlumberger, AMD, Deloitte, and Aditya Birla visit us to hire students.

Campus: Facilities for sports and games here are really extraordinary, which is great. For our course, the general infrastructure on campus is pretty good. The library is also a cool and calm study place. The food quality in the mess is decent, and the medical support available is excellent.

Many big, famous companies come to our institute to hire students. Plus, every department has a special training and placement cell that helps us a lot with getting placements and internships. So yeah, overall, the institute's placement record is quite strong.

Campus: Classrooms in our college are all air-conditioned, which is super nice. We have a central library with easy access to books. There are three canteens with good fast food. Mess food is average. Sports facilities include a small ground for volleyball, football, and cricket. Hostel facilities are decent with Wi-Fi, water, lights, fans, and beds.

They offer really good placements, including roles in management consulting at big companies like Morgan Stanley and Barclays. You can also find PSU jobs with places like Ireda and IDBI Bank. Plus, there are roles in business analytics and product management. The lowest package offered is 9 LPA, while the highest can go up to 30 LPA. Most students get an average package of 12-13 LPA.

Campus: Quality-wise, this college is top compared to others. The campus is beautiful, and food options are great. Teachers support students a lot. There's a good setup for entrepreneurship too. Wi-Fi is excellent everywhere, and the library is very strong with Bloomberg subscriptions.

Campus: Development on campus keeps happening. A new lecture hall and auditorium will be ready by December 2026. We already have a good library and a beautiful heritage building with a garden. Lecture halls don't have AC, which is not great. Hostels have canteens plus RD canteen, Domino's, and Barista nearby. Medical care is free with ambulances available. Sports facilities include fields, courts, and a swimming pool. Smart boards and projector screens were added recently.

Academic: Curriculum for petroleum studies is very relevant to industry needs, and our teachers are super helpful and qualified. Semester exams are easy to handle, almost everyone passes, and the pass rate is around 98%, so failing is rare.

Placement: Talking about placements in my course, about 80% of students get placed right now. I think this number will go above 85% for sure because before, it was almost 100%. The highest salary package someone got was 42 lakhs, and the lowest was 8 lakhs. Big companies like SLB, Exxon Mobile, and Meesho come for hiring. For internships, around half the students, about 50%, got a chance to work at places like Cairn, SLB, and Microsoft, among others. Mostly, jobs are for core petroleum roles, like reservoir engineer or production engineer. But if someone wants to be a software engineer, some also get placed in good companies like Microsoft.

Campus: Girls' hostels here have big rooms and very fast Wi-Fi. The food is good, and Wi-Fi is available all across the campus. The library is the biggest teaching library in Asia and is amazing for study. Classrooms are interactive, and professors clear doubts easily. We also have good medical, sports, and games facilities.
