Kumaun University spans approximately 160 acres across its D.S.B. Campus (Nainital) and Sir J.C. Bose Campus (Bhimtal). The university provides a comprehensive range of facilities to support academic, research, and extracurricular needs for its 150,000 students and staff. Library

A centrally operated library with a 24/7 Wi-Fi-enabled system and open access to a rich collection of books, journals, and e-resources. It has a seating capacity of over 500 students, including a Student Aid Fund section, laptops, and desktops for differently-abled students. The library also offers internship opportunities.

Laboratories

Over 14 research and computer labs equipped with modern technology for Science, Arts, and Commerce programs. These labs provide hands-on experience to enhance practical learning and visualization of concepts.

IT Infrastructure

Includes 500+ laptops, 250+ desktops, 8 computer labs, browsing centers, and an e-learning center in the library. Campus-wide Wi-Fi ensures seamless access to digital resources for all departments.

Health Center

A hygienic health center with qualified doctors and external medical consultants. It offers medical insurance and addresses students’ health needs to ensure well-being.

Sports Facilities

Includes a cricket ground (170,600 sq. ft. with four practice nets), a football ground (70,000 sq. ft.), basketball, volleyball, and badminton courts, and indoor games like carrom, chess, and table tennis. A gym is available, and swimming pool access is provided at nearby stadiums for a fee, with professional trainers.

Canteen

A main canteen for students and staff, plus additional canteens, featuring hygienic kitchens with qualified chefs using fresh ingredients to provide healthy and quality food.

Banking Services

On-campus SBI and ICICI banks, along with ATM machines, facilitate smooth banking transactions and cash withdrawals for students and staff.

Guest Rooms

Guest accommodations for visitors attending events like tech fests, seminars, cultural festivals, and research programs. Booking is required at least one to two weeks in advance via the university website.

Himalaya Museum

Established in 1987 under the Department of History, the museum supports documentation, collection, and exhibitions to promote cultural and historical research.

Auditorium
