About NBRC

The National Brain Research Centre (NBRC) was established in 1997. Located in Manesar, Gurgaon, Haryana, NBRC functions under the Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Government of India, and is recognised as a Deemed-to-be University. It is India’s only institute solely dedicated to neuroscience research and education. NBRC offers both M.Sc. and Ph.D. programs in Neuroscience, with a strong focus on interdisciplinary and computational approaches. The institute is equipped with advanced labs and facilities for brain imaging, molecular neuroscience, and neuroinformatics.

NBRC Courses 2025

NBRC offers two flagship programs in the field of Neuroscience: a 2-year M.Sc. and a 5-year Ph.D. The M.Sc. program is open to candidates with a Bachelor’s degree in Science, Engineering, or Medicine with at least 55% marks (50% for SC/ST/PH). The Ph.D. program requires candidates to have a postgraduate degree (M.Sc./M.Tech/MBBS/M.Pharm) or a 4-year Bachelor's, along with a valid score in GATE, CSIR-JRF, DBT, ICMR, or JEST. Admissions are based on entrance exams followed by interviews.

NBRC Admission 2025

The National Brain Research Centre (NBRC), Gurgaon, offers admissions to two main academic programs - M.Sc. in Neuroscience and Ph.D. in Neuroscience. Admissions are based on national-level entrance tests such as JGEEBILS, GATE, CSIR-UGC JRF, DBT, ICMR, and JEST, followed by a personal interview conducted by NBRC.

 

Eligibility for the M.Sc. program includes a Bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering, Psychology, or Medicine with at least 55% marks (50% for SC/ST/PH). Ph.D. applicants must have a Master’s degree or a four-year undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline, along with a valid fellowship or qualifying exam score.

 

How to Apply?

  2. Under the "Academics" tab, select Admissions.
  3. Choose the program you wish to apply for: M.Sc. Neuroscience or Ph.D. Neuroscience.
