The National Brain Research Centre (NBRC) offers two advanced academic programs in the field of neuroscience: a 2-year M.Sc. in Neuroscience and a 5-year Ph.D. in Neuroscience. The M.Sc. program is designed for students from science, engineering, or medical backgrounds and requires a minimum of 55% marks (50% for SC/ST/PH) in the qualifying degree. Admission is primarily through the JGEEBILS entrance exam, followed by an interview for shortlisted candidates. The Ph.D. program is intended for candidates with a Master’s degree (M.Sc., M.Tech., MBBS, M.Pharm) or a 4-year Bachelor’s degree and a valid national-level fellowship such as GATE, CSIR-UGC JRF, DBT, ICMR, or JEST. Admission to the Ph.D. program also involves shortlisting followed by an interview process. Both programs emphasise interdisciplinary training and research, offering students access to state-of-the-art neuroscience laboratories and collaborations.
