23 Sept, 2025 : Applications for NID Admissions 2026 are now open, with the last date to apply online being 1 December 2025. The Design Aptitude Test (DAT) Prelims will be held on 21 December 2025 across centres. Admissions are open for B.Des programmes at NID Ahmedabad, Andhra Pradesh, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, and Assam, and M.Des programmes at NID Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar, and Bengaluru.

National Institute of Design in Jorhat, Assam, is one of the forthcoming hubs of design excellence under the Government of India, Ministry of Commerce and Industry. It offers full-time Bachelor of Design (B.Des.) courses across variouswith specialisations in Textile & Apparel Design, Industrial Design and Communication Design. Admissions are based on candidates' performance in the NID Design Aptitude Test (DAT) consisting of Prelims and Mains and a studio test followed by a personal interview.

 

Being a part of the newer NID campuses, NID Assam is dedicated to developing design professionals with emphasis on culture, sustainability, and innovation. The campus encourages hands-on learning of design through studio practice, live projects, and industry interaction to prepare students for Indian as well as international markets.

NID Assam UG Admission 2025

NID Jorhat offers 4 year Bachelor of Design (B.Des.) with an emphasis on creative inquiry, functional design competence, and hands-on education. As one of Northeast India's leading design institutes, National Institute of Design's vision is to create design professionals who are culturally sensitive, socially conscious, and industry-savvy. The curriculum is designed to establish good foundations in material exploration, prototyping, design thinking, and communication. Exposure is provided in the form of studio-based teaching, internships, and actual projects. The candidates must have passed 10+2 (any discipline) from any recognised board.
