VELS University Chennai is spread over an area of around 29.8 acres. It is a well-known University which has great infrastructure containing almost all facilities like a medical centre, conference halls, classrooms, research labs, laboratories, computer labs, Cafeteria , indoor and outdoor sports facilities, staff rooms, department rooms, Bank on Campus, parking lot and bus centre for the students and staff, etc.
The University also has an auditorium with a capacity of over 1300. It also provides huge grounds for cricket, a basketball court, rooms for cultural activities, a sports complex, eateries , a library, and laboratories.
Library:
The University has a well maintained central library which has a great infrastructure with a 24/7 wifi enabled system and open access system which helps students without facing any issues while accessing the books. It also has a rich collection of books. It also operates as an open access system centrally for providing smooth accessibility to students. Its library has a seating capacity of around 800+ students, which includes the Students Aid Fund section, laptops, and desktops for the differently-abled. The library of the University provides great opportunities to the students by providing various opportunities like internships, etc.
Conference Halls:
The University provides Conference Halls to the students, which are fully air-conditioned. It has around six conference halls with the latest facilities and modern features. Through these conference halls, students will gain hands-on experience in various related seminars or programs and be able to visualise real-life situations easily.
Laboratories:
The University offers various laboratories to students under programs in Engineering, Pharmacy, Science, Arts, and Commerce, among others. It has around 18 research labs, computer labs with the latest facilities and modern features. Through these laboratories, students will gain hands-on experience in various related programs and be able to visualise real-life applications easily.
IT Infrastructure:
VELS University also provides IT infrastructure for students to ensure a smooth academic experience. It offers around 600 laptops, 350 desktops, 14 computer labs, and an e-learning centre in the Central Library for students from various departments to gain hands-on and real-life experience in every possible field. It provides wifi for the whole campus, which helps students to explore everything in the meantime.
Medical Centre:
The University also provides a Medical Centre, which is located in a hygienic part of the University. It addresses the health or medical issues of the students and ensures that the best facilities are provided. The University has highly qualified doctors; in addition, it also allows doctors from outside to assist the students. It also offers medical insurance to students.
Sports facilities:
The University also provides various sports facilities for students to relieve their stress from academics after academic activities. It provides opportunities in the field of sports which includes extra curricular activities. It provides facilities for various types of sports, which are categorised as indoor and outdoor sports.
VELS University Chennai also provides a well-managed cricket ground, spread across 170,000 square feet, with four practice nets and various facilities. It also features a football ground spanning 60,000 square feet and well-maintained basketball, volleyball, and badminton courts. As mentioned above, it offers indoor games such as carrom, chess, and table tennis, among others.
It also provides a gym in an open area for students . It also allows students to use the swimming pool facilities at nearby stadiums by paying some fees. The swimming pools include highly qualified personal trainers to help the students.
Transportation:
VLES University also Provides Transportation facilities for students staying on and within the campus. It provides various transportation facilities, including bus services and auto-rickshaw services, within the campus. Students can enjoy smooth daily transportation by utilising the university-provided transport facilities.
Cafeteria:
VELS University also provides a Cafeteria for students to have the best food after the hectic schedule of classes and labs. It provides one common canteen for the students and staff, and other canteens for students. The canteen features a well-maintained kitchen with a highly qualified chef, utilising fresh ingredients to ensure a good taste and a healthy environment.
Bank:
The University provides Banks on campus to help students have smooth transactions and access banking facilities. It gives banks like SBI and ICICI Bank. Students can visit these banks to have a better offline banking process for transactions or depositing the money, and students can avail themselves of facilities like ATMs for offline cash for their needs.
