Aryabhatta Knowledge University, Patna, was established by the Government of Bihar with the object of forming a university to facilitate and oversee the affiliation of institutions instituted by the government, trusts, or societies under the Aryabhatta Knowledge University Act, 2008 (Bihar Act 24 of 2008). Admission into the BTech, BSc, BCA, BBA, BPharma, and BPT programs is based on a Class 12 pass minimum aggregate of 45% in a recognized board. To get admission to BAMS, one needs Class 12 or equivalent with 50% aggregate. A bachelor's degree and 45% or more are required for applicants to obtain an MBA. MS programs require a bachelor's degree in the respective stream. Admission to BTech is on the basis of JEE Main or Bihar UGEAC entrance tests. The rest of the undergraduate courses are on the basis of merit. Postgraduate courses such as BAMS and MS require specialized entrance tests: NEET or Bihar NEET for BAMS and NEET PG for MS.
