MAT 2025 exam for the May session is going to be conducted on May 31, 2025 for the PBT mode and June 8, 2025 for the CBT mode. The IBT mode of MAT 2025 exam has been discontinued. AIMA has released MAT 2025 Admit Card for the PBT mode at the official website at mat.aima.in. Candidates must download the admit card before appearing for the PBT exam.

 

Candidates who are eligible and interested in appearing for MAT 2025 May Session CBT exam can complete their MAT 2025 Application Process till June 2, 2025. The application form is available at the official website of AIMA MAT. The application fee for the May session exam is INR 2200. If any candidate wishes to appear in both sessions of MAT 2025 exam, he/she needs to pay INR 3800 for the exam.

What is MAT exam?

MAT exam stands for Management Aptitude Test. It is a national-level entrance test in India. The exam is for candidates who want to study management courses like MBA or PGDM.

 

The MAT exam is held four times a year: in February, May, September, and December. It is conducted by the All India Management Association (AIMA).

 

Candidates can take the MAT exam in three ways i.e., as a paper-based test (PBT), a computer-based test (CBT), or as an internet-based test (IBT) from home. The exam has 200 multiple-choice questions. The questions are from five areas: Language Comprehension, Mathematical Skills, Data Analysis & Sufficiency, Intelligence & Critical Reasoning, and Indian & Global Environment.

 

Each correct answer gives candidates one mark, and there is negative marking for wrong answers. The total time for the exam is 150 minutes.

 

Many business schools in India accept MAT scores for admission. Any candidate who has completed graduation or is in the final year of graduation can apply for the MAT exam. It is a good option for candidates who want to pursue a career in management.

MAT 2025 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates willing to appear in MAT 2025 exam must check MAT Eligibility Criteria 2025 before applying. The eligibility criteria for the exam are mentioned below.

  • Candidates must have secured a graduation degree in any stream/course or an equivalent from a UGC recognised university.
  • Students of the final year of graduation are also eligible to apply for MAT 2025 exam.
  • There is no minimum mark to appear in MAT. However, there is a minimum score criterion of 50% in MAT accepting colleges (45% for the reserved category).
  • Candidates who have completed a professional degree such as CS, CA, or ICWA are also eligible to appear in MAT exam.
  • There is no age limit to appear for MAT exam.

 

MAT 2025 Application Process

Eligible and interested candidates have to apply for the exam through the official website. AIMA opens a common portal to apply for CBT and PBT exams. Candidates can follow the steps below to complete the registration process.

  • Visit the official website of AIMA MAT at mat.aima.in.
  • Find and click on the ‘Register’ option.
  • Now, enter name, email ID, date of birth, mobile number, city, state, test mode and a password.
  • Now, authenticate using MAT ID shared in the email and phone.
  • Next, choose the preferred test mode i.e., CBT, PBT, or IBT, Test Cities, and five preferred B-Schools.
  • Pay the application fee via debit/credit card, net banking, or e-wallet.
  • Enter the academic and other details in MAT 2025 Application Form.
  • Upload a recent passport-size photograph and signature.
  • Now, click on submit to complete the application process.
  • An acknowledgement mail will be shared to the registered email ID.

MAT 2025 Exam Day Guidelines

Candidates appearing for MAT exam must follow the exam day guidelines to have a smooth exam process.

  • Candidates must carry two colour printouts of the MAT 2025 admit card.
  • Candidates should bring an original photo ID proof, such as an Aadhaar card, a Passport, a Voter ID, PAN card, Driving License, or an Employer/College ID.
  • Students must take only a blue ballpoint pen (for PBT mode, carry two pens).
  • Candidates can bring a clear water bottle and should wear a face mask if required.
  • Students should download the admit card 3-4 days before the exam and check for any mistakes.
  • Candidates are advised to check the exam centre location at least 2-3 days before the exam.
  • Candidates must reach the exam centre at the reporting time mentioned on the admit card. Entry gates will close 15 minutes before the exam starts.
  • Students must cooperate with staff during identification and security checks.
  • Candidates should not bring bags, mobile phones, watches, books, wallets, or any electronic devices inside the exam centre.
  • Studentsmust use the pen provided to sign the attendance sheet and fill the OMR sheet (for PBT mode).
