BHM Admission Process 2025: Entrance Exams, Eligibility Criteria in India

The admission procedure usually includes submitting of application forms, entrance exams like NCHM JEE or exams conducted by the individual states and institutes and a counseling session or interview is followed to finalize the allocation of seats. Eligibility to the Bachelor of Hotel Management (BHM) course is that the applicant should have completed Class 12 (10+2) from a recognized board with at least 50% marks. In some colleges, merit-based direct admission is provided in case the candidate has an outstanding percentage. Before admission, candidates need to submit relevant documents and complete the payment of fees. Bachelor of Hotel Management is a three to four-year undergraduate course that specializes in hospitality and hotel management. BHM Eligibility Criteria

The candidates must fulfil the following eligibility criteria to take admission in the Bachelor of Hotel Management program given below:

  • The applicants must have completed 10+2 (HSC) or equivalent from a recognized board in any stream such as (Science/Commerce/Arts), with English as a compulsory subject.
  • A minimum of 50% marks in Class 12 is mandatory for the students. (45% for SC/ST reserved categories as per government standards).
  • Strong English proficiency and interpersonal skills are essential for both selection and future hospitality roles.
  • The candidates must qualify certain entrance examinations such as NCHM JEE, CUET UG, etc.

BHM Admission Process 2025

The admission process for the Bachelor of Hotel Management program is almost the same in all universities. For reference the admission process at IHM Bhubaneswar is given below:

 

Step 1 – The candidates must register online at the official NCHMCT portal before the deadline and pay the exam fee and upload the Class 12 documents.

 

Step 2 – The exam is typically consists of sections on Numerical Ability, Reasoning & Logical Deduction, General Knowledge & Current Affairs, and English Language.

 

Step 3 – Check when NCHMCT publishes results and All India Ranks (AIR). Eligible candidates have to participate in the centralised counselling session.

 

Step 4 – During the counselling window, choose your preferred IHM campus (e.g. Bhubaneswar) among others and submit a preference order.

 

Step 5 – If allotted IHM Bhubaneswar, visit the institute with original documents (Class 10/12 mark sheets, ID, category, etc.), pay the first-year fee including tuition, hostel, and exam charges.

 

Step 6 – After verification and fee payment students can join the orientation round.

Are there colleges providing direct admission to BHM courses?

Yes, there are a few privately owned colleges that give direct entry into college, on the basis of merit (10+2) examination without an entrance test. But at the same time these are on a restricted level and can be more expensive or involve personal interviewing.
