Haryana GNM Nursing admission is merit-based and conducted by the Haryana Nurses & Nurse-Midwives Council, with admission likely to start from October 2025. Candidates who have passed Class 12 examination with 50% or more marks, preferably with Science, are eligible to seek admission. Application for admission is made online only, and the applicants are selected on the basis of their appearance, merit in the qualifying examination, and their choice of subjects filled during online registration. Only medically fit candidates of the female category who fall within the stipulated age limit can apply for the GNM Haryana.

 

The General Nursing and Midwifery course is a diploma of three and a half years. It includes a six-month internship during which students, one way or another, get basic knowledge and procedure training in nursing and midwifery. A GNM holder can seek employment as a Staff Nurse, a Community Health Nurse, and in Hospital Clinics, Community Health Centres, and other related fields. There is also scope for further studies, such as BSc Nursing, which will enable the GNM holder to pursue higher studies in nursing education, administration, and specialized health care.

Haryana GNM Nursing Eligibility Criteria

The following are the criteria that candidates must meet while applying for the Haryana GNM Nursing Course:

  • Passed Senior Secondary (12th) examination from a recognized Board; the 12th standard with Science and English as compulsory subjects is preferred, with at least 40% aggregate marks in the qualifying examination.
  • Candidates completing vocational ANM courses recognized by the State or Vocational Stream-Health Care Science (40% marks) shall also be eligible.
  • Candidates completing his/her 12th from State Open Schools recognized by the State Government and the National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) shall be eligible.
  • The minimum age is to be 17 years on or before 31 December 2025, whereas the upper age limit is 35 years.
  • Only females are eligible for GNM admission in Haryana. Hence, all candidates must be medically fit.
  • An applicant who is a registered ANM and has a pass mark shall also be eligible.

Admissions into GNM Nursing Haryana are based on merit, managed by the Haryana Nurses & Nurse-Midwives Council. Students can apply online through the official portal. The female student must also be medically fit and fall under the prescribed age limit. GMCH Chandigarh conducts a separate entrance test for GNM admission, i.e., Government Medical College & Hospital. Haryana GNM Nursing Admission Process

Below are the steps to be followed for the admission process into GNM Nursing at Government Medical College & Hospital, Haryana:
