Karnataka Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS), Hubli was founded in 1957. The institute was previously named Karnataka Medical College but was renamed Karnataka Institute of Medical Sciences, Hubli in 1997. The institute is accredited by the National Medical Commission. KIMS Hubli is affiliated with Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS), Bangalore. Undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral courses are offered to students by the institute in the discipline of medical science. The MBBS course by KIMS Hubli covers the undergraduate level program of MBBS; MD and MS courses under the postgraduate level; and M.Ch in Urology course at doctoral level. Admission to the courses UG, PG and Doctoral by KIMS Hubli is based on the NEET, NEET-PG and NEET-SS ranks of the respective examination. KIMS Hubli Admission Admission to all the principal courses is entrance-based. Admission to MBBS, MD/ MS, and DM/ M.Ch is offered by the institute based on NEET UG, NEET PG, and NEET SS, respectively. To get admission in B.SC Nursing in KIMS Hubli, the candidates must appear for KCET. Candidates who pass the respective entrance test must then appear for the counseling held by the Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA) for admission to KIMS Hubli.
