The admission process for the PGDIT course may vary as per the institution's eligibility criteria and selection procedure. The admissions could be merit-based or entrance-based. For reference, the admission process at the University of Mumbai has been given below:

• Candidates must acquire the brochure for the Postgraduate Diploma in Information Technology course by paying a fee of INR 200.
• Completed and signed application forms, along with the original documents and certified copies of the marks statement, must be submitted to the admissions staff within the timeframe specified in the brochure. Applications that are incomplete or lack a marksheet will be rejected.
• Candidate selection will be based solely on merit from the entrance examination. A list of students admitted to the course will be posted on the Department's notice board as well as on the university website.
