CBSE 10th Exam Pattern 2026 is released by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on its official website at cbse.gov.in. Changes in CBSE 10th Exam Pattern
Over the years, the CBSE has made multiple changes in its exam pattern. In 2025, the CBSE Question Paper was more focused on MCQs and case-based questions. For more details, refer to the section mentioned below:
- In the year 2025, 50% of the questions in the CBSE paper for class 10 consisted of multiple-choice questions (MCQs), and 20% of the questions were select-response type. The remaining 30% of the questions were either short-answer or long-answer types.
- For the academic year 2023-24, 50% of the questions were source-based integrated questions, and in the form of MCQs. The rest of the paper consisted of short-answer questions, long-answer questions, and select-response-type questions.
CBSE 10th Exam Pattern 2026
As per the new CBSE class 10 exam pattern, 50% of the questions will be competency-based, 20% will be MCQs, and the remaining 30% will be short or long answer-type questions. Each subject will be of 100 marks, including 80 marks for theory and 20 marks for internal assessment. Students must score at least 33% marks in each subject and in total.
