MAT Exam Analysis 2026: Student Reaction

The initial MAT Exam Analysis 2026 suggests that the September PBT paper was easy and followed the usual MAT structure. Questions were mostly direct, allowing students to attempt a good number of questions. The bigger challenge was speed, as there was no sectional time limit but only 120 minutes for all 150 questions. Some students reportedly left a few questions because of the time pressure.

MAT Difficulty Level 2026

The overall MAT Difficulty Level 2026 was easy. Mathematical Skills and Data Analysis and Sufficiency were comparatively moderate, while the other three sections were easier.

Section Difficulty Key Observation
Language Comprehension Easy Direct verbal and RC questions
Intelligence & Critical Reasoning Easy Familiar reasoning concepts
Mathematical Skills Moderate Calculation and arithmetic-based questions
Data Analysis & Sufficiency Moderate Graphs and data interpretation required time
Economic & Business Environment Easy Business, economy and general awareness questions

MAT Section-Wise Analysis 2026

The MAT Section-Wise Analysis 2026 shows that the main difference between sections was the time required rather than the conceptual difficulty. Mathematical Skills and Data Analysis & Sufficiency were comparatively more demanding, while the remaining sections were easier to manage.

Language Comprehension

The section was reported to be easy. Questions covered Reading Comprehension, vocabulary, sentence correction, fill in the blanks, idioms and para jumbles.

Intelligence & Critical Reasoning

The section included familiar areas such as blood relations, coding-decoding, series, Venn diagrams and distribution-based questions.

Mathematical Skills

Mathematical Skills was relatively more time-consuming. Questions were reported from percentages, interest, time and work, profit and loss, ratio-proportion, algebra, geometry, probability and other arithmetic areas.

Data Analysis & Sufficiency

The section included graphs, pie charts, bar and line graphs, data comparison and data sufficiency questions. It was considered moderate compared with the easier sections.

Economic & Business Environment

Economic & Business Environment was among the easier sections. Questions covered business, economy, politics, trade, sports, personalities and awards.

For topic-wise coverage, readers can refer to MAT Syllabus 2026.

MAT Good Attempts 2026

Initial analysis gives the following indicative good-attempt ranges:

Section Good Attempts
Language Comprehension 13-15
Intelligence & Critical Reasoning 12-15
Data Analysis & Sufficiency 12-14
Mathematical Skills 11-13
Economic & Business Environment 8-10

These are indicative figures based on the initial paper review and are not released by AIMA.

MAT Questions Asked 2026

The questions reported from the September PBT were largely from familiar MAT topics. Arithmetic, algebra and other quantitative areas featured in Mathematical Skills, while reasoning included areas such as coding-decoding, series and blood relations.

More questions can be added to the [MAT Question Papers 2026] section as verified memory-based questions become available.

MAT Memory-Based Questions 2026

AIMA does not immediately publish an official question paper after the PBT. The memory-based question list will therefore depend on questions recalled by test takers and subsequently verified.

MAT Expected Cutoff 2026

MAT cutoff requirements vary by institute and admission category. A single overall cutoff cannot be applied to all MAT-accepting B-schools. The final shortlist also depends on the institute's admission policy and other selection parameters.

MAT CBT Exam 2026

The next MAT CBT Exam 2026 is scheduled for September 20, 2026. CBT registration is open until September 14, and the admit card is scheduled for September 17 from 5 PM onwards.
