Preparing for CLAT 2026 along with Class 12 boards may seem challenging, but with the right plan, students can manage both effectively. The Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) is an entrance exam for admission to top National Law Universities (NLUs) in India. It consists of 120 passage-based multiple-choice questions to be solved in 2 hours. The paper covers English, Current Affairs & General Knowledge, Legal Reasoning, Logical Reasoning, and Quantitative Techniques. Each correct answer carries one mark, while 0.25 marks are deducted for every wrong response.

The weightage of sections in CLAT is divided as: English (20%), Current Affairs & GK (25%), Legal Reasoning (25%), Logical Reasoning (20%), and Quantitative Techniques (10%). Students preparing for CLAT 2026 should follow NCERT books, newspapers, and reliable guides for subject preparation. Regular practice with previous year question papers and mock tests is very important to track progress.

A smart preparation strategy involves making a study plan, comparing the CLAT 2026 syllabus with Class 12 boards to identify common topics, and dividing study time into small sessions with breaks. Constant revision strengthens memory of facts, formulas, and concepts. Along with this, subject-specific preparation is also important: grammar and comprehension for English, daily newspaper reading for GK, practising legal reasoning questions, solving logical puzzles, and revising maths shortcuts for quantitative techniques.

Preparing for boards and CLAT together has many benefits. Some subjects overlap, saving time for study. It helps in improving time management skills, gives students more career options, avoids wasting a gap year, and provides early exposure to competitive exams.

At the same time, students must avoid certain mistakes. Referring to too many resources or using mock tests from unreliable sources can create confusion. Comparing one's preparation with others or wasting too much time on social media can reduce focus. Studying continuously for long hours is also not effective; instead, short study sessions with breaks improve efficiency.
