CLAT UG Syllabus 2027

The CLAT UG syllabus 2027 contains five sections. The paper focuses on reading comprehension, critical reasoning, legal principle application, current affairs and basic mathematical skills. Most questions are passage-based, so applicants should practise understanding information and drawing conclusions rather than relying only on memorisation.

Practise principle-based questions and focus on applying the information provided in each passage. Avoid relying on assumptions that are not supported by the question.

Logical Reasoning

Logical Reasoning assesses the ability to analyse arguments and understand how conclusions depend on evidence or assumptions. Questions may involve inferences, analogies, relationships, contradictions and the evaluation of arguments.

Practise identifying premises and conclusions before attempting questions. Review incorrect answers to understand whether the error came from a weak assumption, an unsupported inference or a misreading.

Quantitative Techniques

Quantitative Techniques tests the ability to interpret numerical information and perform relevant mathematical operations. The official syllabus includes topics such as ratios and proportions, basic algebra, mensuration and statistical estimation.

Revise school-level mathematics and practise questions based on tables, graphs and numerical passages. Focus on accuracy before increasing speed.
