• Master’s degree in a relevant discipline from a recognized university/institute with at least 55% aggregate marks or equivalent CGPA.
• A relaxation of 5% is provided for SC/ST/OBC (Non-Creamy Layer), Differently-abled candidates, and those who obtained their Master’s degree before 19 September 1991 as per UGC norms. Candidates may apply with sponsorship/assistantship/fellowship or as self-sponsored.
• Admission through BTU-DAT entrance examination consisting of 100 MCQs (50 Research Methodology + 50 Specialization). Minimum 50% marks required (45% for reserved categories). Qualified candidates appear for an interview/viva-voce before the Department Research Committee.

• Applicants must submit written permission from the employer, proof of availability of research facilities at the workplace, and a one-semester relieving certificate for residential requirements.
• Candidates working within 50 km of the university may be relaxed from the relieving certificate requirement.
• Same as full-time candidates, including BTU-DAT entrance examination and interview with 70% weightage for entrance test and 30% for interview.
