Academic: Getting your CGPA at HBTU is all about how you do in exams. We have two mid-semester tests, and each one is for 15 marks. Then there's one big end-semester exam, and that one is for 50 marks. Your final CGPA comes from adding up all these marks. Overall, the way exams are handled here is pretty decent.

Placement: Talking about placements, HBTU is a really good college. Students here get some nice salary packages. I think the highest package of 45 LPA is quite impressive, and the average package is also decent, around 6 LPA at HBTU. They also have a very good placement cell that works hard to get students placed well.

Campus: The teachers at HBTU are really good. This was a big reason for me to join this college. Our teachers understand us students and always help when we face problems. They guide us well so we can achieve what we aim for in life. A nice thing is that some of our faculty members are from outside India too.

Admission: Positive, my journey to Harcourt Butler Technical University progressed smoothly. Merit list release was prompt, counselling stayed well-managed, verification was thorough with patient staff, and communication around registration and orientation stayed clear.

Academic: In our college, every semester has two mid-semester exams and then one main exam. To sit for these exams, students must have at least 75% attendance, it is compulsory. Our teachers are very qualified, all of them have a Ph.D. They make sure to teach us both practical knowledge and theory. It is really easy to understand the concepts they teach.

Placement: Our college has a good range of branches available, even some specific ones that are not that common. In each branch, there are about 80 students. Talking about jobs, almost 90% of students get placed after finishing their course. Also, the internships here are quite good. The highest salary package recorded was 42 LPA, especially for food technology, and the lowest package was 3 LPA.

Campus: From my experience, the infrastructure here is pretty good. All hostels come with Wi-Fi which is super helpful. The mess food is decent, not excellent, but good enough to eat. Our college also arranges lots of sports and games for students. There are actually two campuses, east and west. I heard somewhere that the total area is around 300 acres. Also, it's a really old place, like it has a 100-year history.

Academic: Our teachers are really good, you know? Most of them have PhDs, so they are super qualified. One sir even studied outside India, and all the teachers are very helpful when you talk to them. The curriculum here is really good too; it makes us ready for jobs and helps us get placed easily. About exams, they are not too hard if you just attend your classes regularly. For our semester exams, it's out of 50 marks, and you only need to get 15 marks to pass.

Placement: Talking about placements, since our batch is the very first one, it's hard to say what kind of salary packages or companies we will get. But honestly, it's quite tough for us to get placed right now. So, we are all using LinkedIn profiles to connect with people and contact companies in the biotech industry. This is because the government is really helping biotech and giving a lot of money to it. My batch has 75 seats, and 64 of them are already filled. Plus, more and more students are getting crazy about biotech every day.

Campus: The facilities at our college are quite good. Our teachers really help improve the infrastructure, like designing new labs for biotechnology so we can understand the techniques better. We have a central library and classrooms with AC too. Wi-Fi is available all over the campus. I live in the Vishwakarma hostel, and the facilities there are really good. There's also a canteen with very nice food quality. Plus, medical facilities are available right here on campus.

Admission: Balanced, admission into HBTU Kanpur felt hassle-free. The online portal explained each stage clearly, verification was efficient, and staff at registration desks addressed queries well. Onboarding felt organized.

Academic: It's interesting how the teachers are different in each department here. For example, in mechanical engineering, the faculty members are pretty strict. But if you talk about the CSE department, the teachers are really helpful and adjust well to students.

Placement: So, about placements at HBTU Kanpur, the final report for 2024 is still not out yet. But we heard that the highest package this year is 19.5 LPA, and Zscaler gave it to an IT student. Some big companies like Insurance Dekho, Samsung, Hireme, Lummus Teach, and Commvault were among the top recruiters for 2024. If we talk about 2023, placements were pretty good, with 84.02% of students getting placed, which means 484 jobs were offered. Samsung alone gave a 15 LPA package to 20 students back then. The placement report for 2023 also shows the highest package was 36 LPA, and the average package for students was 9.3 LPA.

Campus: Overall, the infrastructure at our college is okay, but it's a mix. Since the college is 100 years old, many buildings look quite old. While some buildings are fine, others are not in great shape. For instance, hostels like Shree Dharacharya Hostel are in really bad condition. Also, the mess facility is very poor.

Admission: Surprisingly, my admission at HBTU moved along easily. The online registration portal was simple to use, counselling sessions were well-arranged, and document verification was smooth. Staff support during orientation helped clarify everything clearly.

Academic: From my experience, the exams here aren't too tough; you can pass them easily if you just study properly. But the main issue is the teaching quality, it's very bad. Most teachers are also quite rude and not helpful at all. One important thing to remember is that teacher surveillance during exams is really strict, so don't even think about cheating. If you get caught cheating, you'll face a UFM, and that means you'll lose a whole year.

Placement: I see, placements in the CSE branch are a bit down these days. This could be due to the recession happening right now. Only 51 students got placed, and there were 59 job offers in total for CSE. Our placement percentage for CSE is 65.4%, and TCS hired the most students. On the bright side, the Chemical branch is doing really well with placements, having the highest numbers.

Campus: My hostel room is not good. The almirah in my room is completely broken and it's almost falling off the wall. I put in a request to get it repaired over a month ago, but till now, nothing has been done about it. We even had to tie the almirah with a rope just so it doesn't fall down on us. Also, the food quality here is mostly not good. And in the computer lab, a lot of the computers are broken and just don't work.

We have to gain skills and experience ourselves to be fully ready for industry jobs by the time we finish our course.

Placement: For placements, our college does pretty good. Last year, 100% of students got placed, but this number can change every year. The highest salary package was 7 LPA, and the lowest was 3.36 LPA, with an average of around 4 LPA. Patanjali Foods Pvt Ltd was among the top companies that recruited from here. Also, 80% of students got internships at good places like HAL, Pepsico, and JK Foods. The main roles offered were for management trainee and engineering trainee positions.

Campus: Classrooms in our college are just okay, but we do have Wi-Fi, labs, and a library which is good. The hostel is also pretty average, though it comes with all the basic stuff like a mess, laundry, and a canteen. They also have some basic sports equipment for students. Both the departmental buildings and the hostel buildings have average infrastructure. For medical needs, there's a dispensary in the college, and students also get insurance cover from the college with support from a company.

Overall, you can expect decent job offers and good salary packages. Also, this place is really helpful if you're planning to prepare for government exams such as GATE or IES.

Campus: Our college campus is big and green, with two parts, East and West. We have good sports facilities here too. But honestly, the infrastructure is not that great, it feels like a total government college. The buildings are old, and the labs are also very old. The hostel isn't good, and the mess food is just average. For what you pay, the hostel and mess don't feel like good value for money.

Some professors are good and supportive, but then there are many who don't help much. The main issue is that most teachers can't teach very well. They might have a lot of industry experience, but when it comes to explaining things in class, it's just not their cup of tea.

Placement: Honestly, the job placements here have become really poor now. Many CSE students are left without jobs even after the whole placement cycle finishes. What's worse, in the 2024-25 second semester, they suddenly brought in a new attendance policy. This rule caused more than half the students to miss their mid-semester exams, leading to a big academic loss for them. Even some final year students got stopped from joining placements just because of low attendance.

Campus: Our college's infrastructure is not really great. The buildings are quite old and look worn out. Only first-year classrooms have air-conditioners, but even those ACs dont work properly. Also, some water coolers around the campus are broken. Labs are okay, but the equipment inside them is old, and many tools are either broken or just don't work. The campus Wi-Fi is also a big problem, it hardly ever works. On the bright side, the library is nice; it gives a calm and good environment to study. However, the mess food is really bad right now, the food and water quality is just pathetic.

Placement: In 2024, our B.Arch course at NIT Patna had a decent placement scene. Around 55% of students from B.Arch actually got placed. The highest salary package someone got was pretty good, like 20 lakhs per year. But if we talk about the average, it was around 10 lakhs per annum, and the median package was 6 lakhs yearly. Many big names in companies, like Oracle, Google, Samsung, CRED, and Adobe, came for placements. Plus, a good 60% of students also got internships, which is cool.

Campus: The college campus has Wi-Fi available all day, every day, in the hostel, classrooms, and everywhere. We get a 10 GB data limit for Wi-Fi daily. The infrastructure here is good, and the new departments like Chemical Engineering and Electronic Engineering are really well-built. Also, the labs have all the necessary equipment, and the instructors there know a lot and are very helpful to us.

Campus: From my experience, the classrooms and labs here are pretty good as they have AC and nice lighting. Wi-Fi is also available across all departments, which is helpful. The hostel facilities are decent enough. However, the mess food isn't really good; it's not what most students would prefer. For sports, the facilities are okay, just don't expect anything extraordinary.
