Hindusthan College of Engineering and Technology (HiCET), located in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, is an autonomous institution affiliated to Anna University and approved by AICTE. The college offers 15 undergraduate (BE/BTech), 7 postgraduate (ME, MBA, MCA), and 8 research (PhD) programs as of the 2023–2024 academic year. HiCET is accredited with NAAC A++ and NBA, and has been ranked in the NIRF 101–150 band. Hindusthan College of Engineering and Technology Admission Deadlines

HiCET generally conducts its admission process for both UG and PG programs in the April–June window, aligning with Anna University’s counseling and TNEA schedules. Application forms for the new academic year are usually released in April, with deadlines extending to June or July depending on the program and entrance exam result announcements. For PhD and research admissions, cycles typically follow Anna University’s biannual schedule, with intakes in January and July.

 

Hindusthan College of Engineering and Technology UG Admission

HiCET offers 15 BE/BTech programs with a total intake of approximately 1,800–2,000 seats per year. Admissions are primarily through Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions (TNEA) counseling, based on Class 12 PCM aggregate. Typical cutoffs range between 80–95 percentile depending on the branch and demand. The annual tuition fee is approximately INR 60,000–1,00,000, with a one-time application fee of INR 500–1,000. Scholarships are available for high scorers and reserved categories.

HiCET offers 7 PG programs including ME (various specializations), MBA, and MCA. The annual intake for PG courses is typically 200–300 seats. Admission to ME/MTech is based on TANCET/GATE scores, while MBA/MCA admissions require a valid TANCET score. Typical cutoffs for TANCET are in the 40–60 percentile range for ME and 50–75 percentile for MBA. PG tuition fees range from INR 60,000–1,20,000 per year.

 

Hindusthan College of Engineering and Technology PhD Admission

HiCET offers 8 research programs in engineering and applied sciences, affiliated to Anna University. PhD admissions are conducted twice a year, with intakes in January and July. Candidates must hold a Master’s degree with at least 55% marks and qualify through Anna University’s written test and interview. Annual research fees are in the range of INR 30,000–50,000. The number of seats per department is typically 2–5 per cycle, subject to supervisor availability.
