TNEA Counselling process for the general special reservation categories have been started by the Directorate of Technical Education (DoTE). This counselling is scheduled to take place from July 9 to July 11, 2025. The Round 1 choice filling will take place from July 14 to July 16, 2025, and the tentative allotment will be out on July 17. Students who will be allotted a rank in the TNEA merit list will be eligible to participate in this counselling process.   • Applicants who have applied for special reservations
  • Pertinent documents for the children of Ex-servicemen, such as the Parent's Discharge Certificate and ID Card
  • Persons with a differing ability are expected to submit a Medical Certificate done by a Board of three medical doctors
  • Prominent sportspersons need to forward all sporting certificates of achievement, as well as the required form.

 

TNEA 2025 Selection Criteria

The candidates will be selected based on their performance in the prescribed subjects, which will be normalised to a cumulative aggregate of 200 marks (Mathematics: 100, Physics: 50, Chemistry: 50) in the entrance examination. Candidates' scores obtained through the TNEA 2025 application form will be normalised, and a merit list will be declared based on such normalised scores. The TNEA 2025 selection process is based on a merit list prepared using Class 12 marks.

  • Candidates are ranked based on their Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics scores.

The college and branch allotment will be temporary and will occur only through online counselling on the basis of candidates' options as well as their overall and community ranks. The TNEA 2025 merit list is prepared with a maximum score of 200. Where multiple candidates secure equal scores in the common merit list, the inter-se merit amongst the candidates is determined by following the following conditions:

  1. Marks percentage in Mathematics
  2. Marks percentage in Physics
  3. Marks percentage in the optional subject

  5. Date of birth (with the older candidate preferred)
