IIM Shillong Hostel Fees 2026
IIM Shillong hostel fees range from INR 76,000 per year to INR 90,000. For the PGP, hostel-related expenses are included under the non-academic components of the programme fee, along with items such as IT infrastructure, student welfare and health insurance. Mess charges are payable separately based on actuals.
For IPM, the institute similarly lists hostel fees within the non-academic expenses rather than as a separate room-rent charge. The current IPM fee structure lists INR 76,000 per year under non-academic expenses for Years I to III, which includes hostel fees, IT infrastructure, student welfare and health insurance. Mess bills are charged separately on an actual basis.
Note: Students should check the fee structure for their specific programme and admission year because hostel and other non-academic charges can vary by programme.
IIM Shillong Hostel Facilities 2026

The campus also has extensive sports and recreational infrastructure. IIM Shillong Hostel Rooms and Accommodation
IIM Shillong provides residential accommodation to students as part of its fully residential programmes. However, the institute does not currently publish a universal first-year double-occupancy and senior-year single-occupancy rule for all programmes on its official website. Therefore, room occupancy should not be stated as a fixed policy unless it is specified for a particular programme or batch.
For some programmes, the institute has specified single/double accommodation subject to availability. For example, its international student information states that single/double occupancy accommodation may be provided subject to availability.
Older programme documentation also indicates that room allocation can depend on the programme and availability. Therefore, students should check the accommodation instructions issued for their particular batch before assuming a specific room type.
IIM Shillong Hostel Food and Dining
IIM Shillong provides mess facilities within its residential campus. The institute's campus-tour page describes the in-house cafeteria and mess as providing fresh and nutritious food and serving as a common space for students to interact.
The Hostel Committee also acts as an interface between students and the administration on matters related to the mess menu and food quality. Mess charges for programmes are generally handled separately from the academic fee and may be charged according to actual consumption or the applicable programme fee structure.

IIM Shillong maintains campus security throughout the year. The institute's international student information states that campus security is available throughout the year and provides first aid in emergencies.
Medical support is also available through the institute's Wellness Centre, which has a Residential Medical Officer and part-time doctors. The Hostel Committee additionally helps students with minor medical issues and other hostel-related concerns.
