IIT Jodhpur offers a variety of scholarships and financial‑aid schemes to support students from different academic levels (undergraduate, postgraduate, research) with a mix of merit‑based and need‑based criteria. The Institute’s Office of Students plays a key role, acting as the bridge between students and the many government, central, state, and private scholarship programmes. The IIT Scholarships are provided in terms of fee waivers, hostel fee, tuition fee, or exemptions.
IIT Jodhpur Scholarships: MCM Scholarship
IIT Jodhpur awards the MCM Scholarship to a select proportion of its student body each academic year. The Merit‑cum‑Means (MCM) Scholarship at IIT Jodhput aims at supporting students who are both meritorious (i.e. academic performance) and needy (family income criteria). It covers a portion of expense/tuition and also provides monthly stipends or allowances, depending on category (General/OBC vs SC/ST). It is meant to reduce the financial burden of studies for eligible students. The selection process takes into consideration previous academic performances, merit, and the economic status of the student's family. Importantly, only 25% of the students enrolled at IIT Jodhpur receive the MCM Scholarship.
