Admission: Passing exams is pretty doable here, whether you study the night before or keep up all semester. Teachers are cool and really want us to succeed in whatever we do. The course material is kinda old, but they start teaching newer stuff in the later semesters.

Placement: Around 90-95 students are in my batch. More than 90% of students get placed. Texas Instruments offers the highest salary package of 32 LPA. TCS offers the lowest package of about 4-5 LPA. Companies like CESC, Tata Steel, and Texas Instruments come for electrical placements. For core placements, we have Google, Microsoft, TCS, and other big names visiting our college.

Campus: The college buildings are old but they're fixing them up. There's like 20 hostels with a big one that fits 1,000 students and a 10-story one. They finished building them already. The girls' hostels are huge and have great food. The boys' hostels are okay and the food is just okay too. But sometimes they surprise us with something good.

Admission: The teachers here are really good at what they teach. They know their stuff and have done some cool research. They are friendly and easy to talk to. We have two semesters in a year. The exams are not too hard, just at the right level. There aren't many classes during exam time, which is nice. The student-faculty ratio is around 11:1.

Placement: The college has a great record for getting students jobs. Big companies like TCS, Wipro, Google, Texas Instruments, Vedanta, and L&T Ltd come for placements. The highest package in 2024 was 45 LPA, and the average was 7.5 LPA.

Campus: IIEST is the second-oldest engineering college in India. The infrastructure isn't top-notch, but it's okay. The food in the hostel mess isn't the best, but at least it's healthy. You can play both indoor and outdoor games at the hostels. They have competitions between the hostels. Wi-Fi works in both hostels and classrooms. There are 4 canteens on campus. The hospital is open 24/7.

Admission: The teachers here are pretty smart, but not all of them are great at teaching. Each professor has their own cool way of teaching that goes beyond just lessons. Some make learning fun, while others help you see how important it is to be serious. The faculty is cool overall, but don't expect their classes to be like YouTube videos. This course won't automatically make you ready for the industry, but you'll learn enough to get ready during the 6-month training on the job they give you. Exams are challenging, though.

Placement: Most students got jobs last year, around 85%. The best offer was 22 LPA in Mechanical. Big companies like JSW, JSL, Tata Motors, ICICI Bank, and PwC came for placements. They mostly hire for Graduate Engineer Trainee roles. Some students like tech jobs, others prefer core companies. Everyone lands an internship through the college's DTPC program.

Campus: The Wi-Fi is pretty fast, and the library is awesome. There's no AC, though. The canteen options are great with many choices. Sports facilities are top-notch, especially for cricket, volleyball, football, table tennis, and basketball. If you're good at sports, you can join the institute team and play in inter-NIT events. The labs are well-equipped. The buildings are kinda old but they get the job done.

Admission: The teachers here are super helpful and really smart. They all went to top colleges in India. Each teacher has their own cool way of teaching. They're all really nice too. The stuff we learn is practical and gets us ready for jobs. The exams are pretty hard, but it's all good. You need to get at least 40% to pass.

Placement: Most students here get jobs after graduation, around 75%. If you study circuits, you have a good chance of getting hired, like 90%. But if you're in the core branch, it's more like 60%-70%. The highest salary you could get is 50 LPA, and the lowest is 6 LPA. On average, people get around 10 LPA. About half of us get internships too. The popular jobs we aim for are structural engineer and manager.

Campus: The campus buildings are nice, but the sound system in the classrooms sucks. It's hard for those in the back to hear. The labs are awesome though. The library is open from 7 AM to 11 PM. The food in the cafeteria is pretty awful, but at least they have separate sections for vegetarians and non-vegetarians. Each hostel has its own gym and badminton court, which is cool.

Admission: The teachers here are super helpful. Each student gets a mentor who helps with both academic and personal stuff. They really get us ready for the industry. Exams are not too hard - we have 2 every semester. There's a mid-sem exam worth 30 marks, an end-sem worth 50 marks, and 20 marks for attendance and assessment.

Placement: Most students here get jobs every year, like over 90%. The highest salary is 82 LPA, while the lowest is 4 LPA. The average salary is around 8 LPA. Big companies like Accenture, Jp Morgan Case, TCS, PW, Microsoft, and Google come for hiring. Lots of students, like 30% to 50%, do internships. It's easier to get picked during on-campus interviews. The students are really friendly and supportive too.

Campus: The library is open every day from 10:00 AM to 12:00 AM, but on Saturday and Sunday, it closes at 6:00 PM. It's a quiet spot with Wi-Fi for studying. There are separate hostels for girls and boys. They serve non-vegetarian food for at least 3 days a week, including biryani twice a month. The infrastructure is pretty good too.

Admission: The professors here are really helpful and know their stuff. They've got a lot of experience and they teach well. The teaching is better than most colleges in West Bengal, except for IIT Kharagpur. The course material for first-years isn't super relevant, though. The exams aren't too tough, and most people pass with a 99 percent rate.

Placement: Most students in my department (Computer Science and Technology) get jobs about 85% of us. I usually see people getting around 19 LPA, but the highest is 56 LPA. Big companies like Google, Microsoft, Unstop, and Meta come to hire us. They offer roles like software developer, which is cool.

Campus: There's a sports ground where you can play cricket, basketball, badminton, and football. Each spot has a TV, carrom board, and badminton court. Hostel Wi-Fi is good too. Different labs for each subject are there, and the food in the hostel is okay.

Admission: The teachers are okay, but they know their stuff. The course material is good and gets me ready for work. The exams are pretty easy since they repeat old questions. You need a 4 SGPA to pass the semester.

Placement: Around 65% of us in my batch got jobs after college. The best package was 37 LPA at Texas Instruments, while the lowest was 5 LPA. On average, we got around 10 LPA. Most of us got placed by Texas Instruments. About 20% of us also got internships, with some going to IITs, foreign universities, or industry. The popular job role offered was Analog Engineer.

Campus: The labs are awesome. The library has super fast Wi-Fi. Classrooms are really cozy with walls that block out noise. The food in the hostel isn't great at first, but it gets better over time. They have table tennis in the hostel, and you can play cricket and football at Oval and Lord's grounds.

Admission: The teachers here really know their stuff, but some are pretty strict about showing up to class and grading papers. I'm just starting out in my first year, so we're mostly covering basic stuff from different areas. I've heard the program is well-planned. The exams can be kinda tough, ranging from medium to really hard, but most people pass with around 80-85%.

Placement: The placement stats for our 2025 electronics and telecommunication engineering batch look promising. About 59% of us landed jobs. The top package hit 36 LPA, while the lowest was 3.3 LPA. On average, we're looking at 8.75 LPA. Big names like Google, Microsoft, TCS, Infosys, Wipro, and Tata Steel came for recruitment.

Campus: The classrooms in the first year don't have Wi-Fi. They keep everything clean and have enough fans and lights. The computers in the lab are a bit slow, though. The hostel has good Wi-Fi, but the food is just okay. There are three canteens not too far from the hostel. The medical help on campus is limited, so having a hospital nearby would be better. But hey, all the sports and games facilities are there for us to enjoy!

Admission: The professors and staff here are super helpful and supportive. They really know their stuff and are experts in what they teach. The classes are a bit tough compared to other NITs. We have two main exams each semester: one in the middle and one at the end. The mid-sem test is usually easier than the final exam.

Placement: Most students find jobs outside college. The highest salary was around 39 LPA, while the lowest was 4 LPA. Companies like Google, Microsoft, Amazon, and Tata Steel hire a lot. Popular jobs are Production Engineer, Operation Analyst, and Cost Estimator.

Campus: I stayed in one of the three hostels for first-year students at IIEST Shibpur. Hostel 8 was the oldest one, but the mess food and sports facilities were top-notch. Hostel 9 was pretty much like Hostel 8. Hostel 10, on the other hand, was brand new and had way better infrastructure than the other two.

Admission: The teachers here are super smart and know a ton of stuff. They really break down everything for us, which I appreciate a lot. The course material is kinda old and not super useful, so we gotta learn other stuff on our own. The exams are pretty tough, I'd say like a 6 out of 10.

Placement: Around 60% of us college students end up with jobs no matter what. Companies like Markit Up and Blinkit often hire students from our college. The highest salary offered is 55 LPA, while the lowest is 5 LPA. Sadly, less than 20% of students get internships here, which isn't great. Most high-paying jobs on our campus are for software developers, data analysts, and machine learning engineers.

Campus: The Wi-Fi here is just okay, like 2.5 stars out of 5. The buildings are nice, with cool air conditioning in classrooms and lots of windows. Learning in class is easy peasy. But the hostel is a letdown for newbies like me - no hot water and the food is bleh. Not a great pick for South Indian peeps who can't handle it. The medical care is top-notch though, and there are lots of sports events to join in.
