Admission: Finalizing my admission at IIT Gandhinagar was quite simple. JoSAA rounds were clearly defined, document checks were smooth, and staff were helpful throughout registration. Orientation also clarified what we needed to know moving forward.

Academic: In my experience, teachers here know their subjects deeply and most have Ph.D.s from reputed universities. The curriculum is good, but the heavy assignment load makes it hard to manage self-study. Also, semester exams here tend to be difficult.

Placement: This placement season saw a high package of 52 LPA from Zomato and another package worth 21 LPA. Major recruiters included Atlassian, Skan.ai, Accenture India and Japan, Zomato, and DE Shaw. The highest PPO so far was 60 LPA from Atlassian. Due to the recession, however, the number of students placed was lower than usual.

Placement: Looking at mechanical engineering, placements are strong with about 90 percent of students getting placed. The average package sits around 21 LPA, the highest reached 76 LPA, and the lowest was about 10 LPA. Recruiters include Amul, Puma, IBM, Amazon, Cognizant, Deloitte, and Adobe. Internship opportunities are also excellent, with 80 to 85 percent securing positions in places like University of Buffalo, Hiyoshi International, University of Washington, L&T, and Texas A&M.

Academic: From what Ive seen, our IIT offers a curriculum thats quite different from other IITs. Its designed to make us fully ready for industry work. Teachers are knowledgeable and approachable when we have doubts. Semester exams vary in difficulty depending on the subject, but theyre usually not too harsh.

Placement: For overall placements, the college posted about 76 percent this time, with an average package of 19.02 LPA. Branchwise averages differ, though. In my course specifically, nearly 99 percent of students were placed, and internships in companies like Samsung and Microsoft are fairly common.

Campus: From my experience, academic and research facilities are excellent. The main library is a major highlight, with a huge variety of books, including course material, comics, journals, mythology, biographies, and self-help. It stays open for long hours, and group study rooms can be booked. Classrooms are modern, air-conditioned, and equipped with Wi-Fi, smartboards, and multimedia systems.
