Admission: The professors here are experts in their field, but their teaching skills are not the best. They just talk in class and go. It feels like we only show up to meet the attendance rule, not really to learn. The course content is old and needs to be updated to match what's happening in the industry. We have to do a lot on our own to land a job. Exams are okay - kind of tough, but most of us manage to pass on the first try.
Placement: The placements last year were great! Over 80% of students got jobs through campus placements. The highest salary offered was 55 LPA, with an average of 13 LPA. Amazon offered the highest package. Lots of other companies also came, both tech and core ones. Most placements were for CSE students, but other branches got good packages too. It's one of the best placement records in the country.
Campus: The college buildings are pretty old and need some serious updating since it's been around for almost 60 years. The hostels could use a makeover too they're not the cleanest. But hey, at least they give us fans, lights, and Ethernet connections in our rooms, so that's a plus. The food is actually not bad compared to other places. They keep things clean in the dining hall. And if you ever get sick, there's a health center right on campus to help you out. Sports are a big deal here. We've got a nice football field, cricket field, and courts for basketball, tennis, and volleyball. Plus, there's a whole sports complex with a gym and other stuff like Kho-Kho. It's cool that they focus on keeping us active and healthy.

Admission: The teachers are nice and know their stuff, but the classes can be a bit dull. The course material feels outdated and there are tons of assignments to do. The exams aren't too hard, just need to cram the night before. Oh, and don't forget about the 75% attendance rule!
Placement: The placement rate in my course is about 85%. The highest salary offered is around 60 LPA, while the average is 16 LPA. Companies like Amazon, Adobe, Flipkart, Zupee, TVS Motors, and other big MNCs come for recruitment. I also got the chance to intern at some well-known Indian companies.
Campus: The hostel facilities are okay. There are two people in each room with two beds, shelves, study tables, and chairs. The rooms are kept nice. The food can be really bad, but sometimes it's great. We have to eat aloo items every day. The classrooms are also well-kept.

Admission: The teachers here are really nice and always willing to help. The exams during the semester can be a bit tough, especially since there isn't much time to prepare. Sometimes, the exams feel rushed, which can be challenging for students who have studied but haven't had a chance to review multiple times.
Placement: The college provides great placement opportunities for all branches, and the average salary offered increases every year. To be eligible for placements and internships, you just need to keep your GPA above 7. Many top companies from around the world visit the campus to hire students. On average, Mechanical students receive a package of around 10 LPA.
Campus: The Wi-Fi, labs, and classrooms here are top-notch. You've got a lot of freedom too. But the hostels are kinda meh. They feel like they're from the 80s or 90s, which can make your room seem outdated. Plus, you have to share a room with two other people until your fourth year, so privacy is pretty much non-existent.

Admission: The teachers here are really helpful and experienced. They know their stuff. The teaching is okay, but I didn't understand everything. I'm studying CSE. The courses prepare us well for the industry. Exams aren't too tough. If you study, follow the notes, and pay attention in class, you'll do well.
Placement: Last year, 95% of students got placed, which was a bit lower than the 99% from the year before. This time around, things are looking up with almost 90% of students landing jobs. In my course, 60% of us got placed, with an average salary of 15 LPA. The lowest offer was 8 LPA in my department. Big companies like Atlassian, Microsoft, Amazon, and Make My Trip are hiring from our college. About 40% of my friends already scored internships at companies like Microsoft, Accenture, and more. They're offering roles in software, SDE, data, and more.
Campus: I've been at this college for about 2 and a half years now. The facilities and infrastructure are pretty good. The Wi-Fi works fine, but a lot of the desktops in the lab don't work, so we have to use our laptops for experiments. The hostel situation can be tough - 2nd and 3rd year students stay there. If your grades aren't great, you might end up with 3 roommates instead of 2. The food in the mess is okay, nothing special. Overall, things here are just okay.

Admission: The teachers are really supportive and the teaching is decent. Exams are not too hard, but passing marks vary by year. You need at least 35 out of 100 to pass. Looking at old exam questions is super helpful for studying.
Placement: The Civil Engineering placement rate is pretty good around 75-80% of students get jobs. Big companies like L&T, NCC, Tata Projects Limited, and DLF Limited come for placements. Some students prefer working in PSUs and study for the GATE exam.
Campus: The Wi-Fi in the hostels is pretty slow, but the classrooms have good internet. The computers in the labs work well, but the hostels don't have modern LAN connections. You can get single, double, or triple rooms in the hostels based on your exam grades. Usually, in the first and second years, you'll get a double or triple room.

Admission: I really like the curriculum at our college. There are lots of clubs for cultural stuff and technical things. We can join any club we want. The teachers are okay some are really good at teaching while others aren't as great.
Placement: The college has great placements with top companies like Google, Microsoft, Wipro, Tata, Amazon, and Deloitte. Students looking for campus placements can expect an average package of around 10 lakhs. Lots of opportunities for good jobs here!
Campus: The college's infrastructure isn't great because we have to take care of our own rooms. The building is really old, from the 1960s. But the playground, classrooms, and library are nice. The library is actually the second biggest in Asia! Plus, they have ethernet which is super helpful.

Admission: The teachers know their stuff, but some of them struggle to keep us engaged. Classes can get boring. Luckily, there are a few awesome professors too. The course content is spot-on. Exams are tough because they come one after the other without a break. It's not too hard to pass though, with a 96% success rate.
Placement: The job placements are pretty good, especially for CSE students. Almost everyone in that branch gets placed. Overall, over 80% of students at NIT Silchar find jobs. The highest salary package is around 80 LPA, while the lowest is 3.5 LPA and the average is 8 LPA. The core branches have fewer placements, but the top companies like Microsoft, Oracle, and L&T still come for recruitment. There are also internship opportunities, but they are not as many as job offers. Still, it's a good chance to gain experience.
Campus: The college has everything you need, but since it's old, the buildings look a bit dated. You can get Wi-Fi in the hostels, library, and labs. The hostel rooms are decent, but the food is just okay. The sports facilities are good, with playgrounds and sports complexes available for students to use.

Admission: The exams are fair for us students. The faculty is okay, not amazing but not terrible either. The professors all have PhDs, and they explain things well so we can all follow along. The pass rate is about 30%. The course content is solid too. Overall, it's an average place to study.
Placement: I really like how big companies like Amazon, Microsoft, and Infosys come to our college to hire students. They offer jobs like software engineer, full-stack developer, and data scientist. It's cool that students studying mechanical, civil, and electrical engineering often get hired by companies like L&T, Tata Steel, and Power Grind. And if you're into business, you might land a job as a business analyst or consultant at firms like Deloitte and PwC. It's great to have these opportunities right out of college!
Campus: The hostel is okay, not the best. The food in the mess isn't great, but it's doable. The college buildings and Wi-Fi are decent. The labs are good too. The facilities are alright, but nothing special. They serve spoiled food sometimes, which is a bummer.

Admission: The professors here are a mixed bag. Some are awesome, some are just okay, and some seem like they're just here for the paycheck. They know their stuff, but not all of them can explain things in a way that clicks with students. But hey, learning can come from anywhere - friends, online, books - as long as we're motivated to learn.
Placement: The job placements for EIE, EE, ECE, and CSE are pretty good. More teaching companies are hiring students with good skills. In branches like CE and ME, core companies also come, but they look for higher CGPA. Tech companies are an option too. I heard of someone getting a high salary of 50 LPA in a tech company. Internships start in the 3rd year, and they can be in the industry or research. We usually do at least 2 internships during our B.Tech at NIT Silchar.
Campus: The wifi can be a bit spotty in some areas, but the LAN and ethernet are fine. The infrastructure definitely needs work. The lab equipment is in pretty bad shape. You can play a lot of sports and games here, except for archery and swimming. The classrooms are nice, with good ventilation.

Admission: The professors here are super smart with lots of degrees, but not all of them are great at teaching. Luckily, YouTube comes to the rescue when we need help. The semester exams are fair, and everyone starts hitting the books a week or two before.
Placement: The job placements are okay, nothing too great. The highest salary offered is around 60 lakhs per year. On average, most students get jobs with salaries between 15 to 20 lakhs per year. The top companies that come for recruitment are Indian Oil and some tech companies from Bangalore. Many students also land internships during their 3rd year of B.Tech.
Campus: The library here is massive, the biggest in Asia! It's great for getting lots of info for your course. The classrooms and hostel are just okay, nothing special. Some classrooms aren't fully equipped and need better maintenance. The hostel food is okay, but we can change it if most people don't like it.
