Admission: The new education policy here really focuses on skills and development instead of just memorizing stuff. But, gotta say, the tests are pretty hard. You can't cheat at all 'cause of the CCTV cameras everywhere. The library has lots of books, mostly old but they get the job done. It's a good place to study with all the support you need.
Placement: Placements are pretty good here. There are about 114 students in my batch, but everyone has different interests. Some go for more studies, and the placement team helps with that. We get job offers on-campus and off-campus too. The alumni network is awesome. In the first year, we can't talk to seniors, but later on, we can meet them in clubs and stuff.
Campus: Some hostels have good infrastructure, but others don't. The LAN connection is reliable, but the food isn't great. The day and night canteens are really helpful though. The central swimming pool and gym are awesome, and each hostel has its own gym too. They keep everything clean with weekly maintenance.

Admission: The teachers here are super friendly and know their stuff. They've got tons of cool tech for research in different fields. I'm in mechanical engineering, but I'm taking an AIML course too. The semester exams are like a typical all-nighter. Almost everyone passes with a 95% success rate.
Placement: A lot of students from my department get placed in good companies. Most of the seniors get placed in top companies, even those with lower grades find jobs. The only downside is that it's a bit tough for students trying to switch to non-core jobs.
Campus: My college campus has everything you need: a library, sports, Wi-Fi, and more. The facilities are pretty good overall. The only downside is that the food is mainly suited for North Indian folks. Students from South India might struggle with the food options here.

Admission: The professors here are a mixed bag some are great, while others are not so good. Some of them don't even notice if you're in class or not, but there are also those who really care about your success. Most teachers don't just lecture; they want you to learn on your own. Odd semesters are usually easier than even ones. You need a 6.0 to pass, and a CGPA of 35. The course content is up-to-date, which is awesome considering the new education policy.
Placement: I'm really into biotechnology and biomedical engineering, but not many people in my college end up in research. Most students switch to software and coding instead. Personally, I'm keen on research. I'm only in my second year, so placements haven't happened yet.
Campus: The hostels at this college are pretty basic, like you'd expect from a government college. The mess hall is not great either. But the course facilities are awesome! You get to do hands-on stuff, which really helps with learning. However, the medical facilities are not helpful at all. They tend to overreact and say you're dying when you're actually okay.

Admission: The teachers at NIT Rourkela are really knowledgeable. They all have degrees, Ph.Ds, and diplomas. There are professors, associate professors, assistant professors in grade 2, and other faculty members too.
Placement: Around half of the students found jobs after graduation. The highest paying job offered during placements at Rourkela in 2023 was 83.60 LPA, while the lowest was 13.89 LPA. The average salary for Computer Science students at NIT Rourkela in 2023 was around 24.07 LPA. Companies like Apple, Google, and Microsoft were the top recruiters at NIT Rourkela that year.
Campus: The NIT Rourkela Campus is huge, covering 1200 acres of land. There are nine halls of residence, seven for guys and two for girls. They can house over 3,000 students. The campus has cool stuff like a badminton court, basketball court, cricket ground, swimming pool, and tennis court. It's pretty awesome!

Admission: I'm studying electrical engineering. The course covers a lot, but it's divided into credits. We have mid-semester and end-of-semester exams, and our grades depend on the credits. Besides engineering stuff, we also learn about ethics, biology, electrochemistry, and quantum physics to improve our problem-solving skills. The faculty, especially in my department, is great! They make sure we don't get overwhelmed with work. There are 129 students in my class.
Placement: Most students here land jobs, with some branches like CSE and mining hitting 100% placements. Big companies like Google, Microsoft, and Apple come to hire students, giving us great opportunities. Plus, we have clubs that help shape our personalities.
Campus: NIT Rourkela has 12 hostels 7 for boys, 3 for girls, and 2 for married students. The rooms are nice, but a bit small and crowded. Each hostel has games like badminton, volleyball, basketball, and table tennis. The food in the mess is yummy with lots of options for breakfast, lunch, snacks, and dinner both veg and non-veg. They have Wi-Fi in the hostels too. The overall setup is pretty good.

Admission: I really like NIT Rourkela because the teachers are great, the courses are interesting, and the exams are fair. They offer a lot of different courses that match what's needed in the real world.
Placement: The salary at NIT Rourkela is pretty good. On average, it's around 17 lakhs per annum. The highest package offered is 83 lakhs per annum. Big companies like Google and Microsoft come for placements. They offer roles like software development engineer, data analyst, consultant, and design engineer.
Campus: The facilities at NIT Rourkela are top-notch for studying and student life. They have modern labs and classrooms in every department. The BPCL library on campus is huge with 85,000 books and 18,000 magazines to help with your studies.

Admission: The teaching at our college is really good. The courses are well-organized and the questions on exams are fair. Some exams are tough, but the experienced teachers are great at explaining things. The new teachers could do better, though. Overall, the faculty is top-notch.
Placement: I'm a student at NIT Rourkela, and I can tell you that most students here get placed in their courses around 82% to 90%. In B.Tech and MBA, they have good placement rates. The highest package is 83.60 LPA, the lowest is 2.60 LPA, and the average is 11.15 LPA. Overall, it's a good place for job opportunities after graduation.
Campus: The Wi-Fi here isn't the best, but the labs, classrooms, and library are cool. The hostel is nice too. They've got awesome medical facilities, sports, and games. The mess food isn't amazing, but there are plenty of great canteens around. I'd give this college a solid 4 out of 5 rating overall.

Admission: The teachers here are really great and know their stuff. They graduated from top IITs and have lots of experience. The courses are updated to match what's needed for jobs today. It's designed to help us get hired by big companies. The semester exams are not too hard, but they make sure we really understand the material. You need at least 50% to pass.
Placement: The job placements at our college are really good. Last year, over 80% of students got placed. The highest salary offered was around 90 LPA, while the lowest was between 9 to 10 LPA. On average, students got around 15 LPA. Companies like Google, Microsoft, Facebook, and Netflix are top recruiters here. In our course, about 10% to 20% of students land internships at big companies like Google and Microsoft.
Campus: The college has great facilities like a library, gym, and swimming pool. The classrooms are fully air-conditioned and there are sports facilities too. The hostel facilities are good, but the food in the mess is just okay. They offer free medical services. Each hostel has its own gym, canteen, stationery shop, and playground. The college provides sports coaches to help students learn and play different sports.

Admission: The teachers at NIT Rourkela are awesome! They are really helpful and know their stuff. They have studied at top universities in India and even abroad. Most of them use smart boards and projectors to teach, which is cool. They are great at helping us solve problems. I have had some nice moments with professors, like when I asked them questions about tests and assignments. They always make sure I understand the main ideas behind my doubts.
Placement: In the M.Sc. Physics program, the placements are okay, with about 90% of students getting placed. The average pay package is around 8 LPA. The college has a good reputation. If you keep up your grades, you'll likely land a good job. Just be prepared to pass tests and interviews. It's also important to do on-campus internships in the 3rd year - that really helps with getting a job later on.
Campus: The hostel here is huge, the food is great, and the rooms are nice. There are even playgrounds on campus. If you're from another city, you gotta stay in the hostel, but if you're local, you can commute. The place is surrounded by trees, mountains, and ponds, which is cool. The campus has everything we need - good roads, playgrounds, and a swimming pool. Overall, it's a nice place to be.

Admission: The faculty here is a mixed bag. Some are great, but others shouldn't be teaching. In our first semester, some of us had to resort to YouTube for studying because of how bad the teaching was. The exams were a bit challenging, but most of the class passed, except for a small percentage of students.
Placement: The placements at this college were just okay. Only a few of my classmates got jobs, and the starting salary was around 25k per month, which is not great for a top NIT. For mechanical students like me at NIT Rourkela, the average salary is about 6-8 LPA, with the highest going up to 15 LPA for core jobs. The highest packages mentioned on the website can be misleading because they might be for students who didn't get core placements. When it comes to internships, out of 115-120 students, only 1-2 might get selected.
Campus: The hostel for first-year students is in bad shape. It hasn't been painted for 4-5 years! The rooms are too small for two people. They're actually meant for one person, but they squeeze two in. The Wi-Fi is not provided, you have to buy it. They only give you a LAN port. There's only one water purifier in the hostel block, which isn't enough. On the bright side, the college buildings and academic areas are good. No complaints there! The library is well-equipped and there are no issues with it.
