Punjab Engineering College (PEC) offers a range of scholarships aimed at supporting meritorious students as well as those from economically weaker sections and socially disadvantaged groups. Scholarships include merit-based tuition fee waivers that reward academic excellence and fee waivers for students belonging to the Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Persons with Disabilities, and low-income families. These scholarships are designed to encourage students to maintain high academic standards throughout their course duration. Special provisions exist for emergency cases, and further scholarships are facilitated via governmental and non-governmental schemes. Merit Scholarships

  • Top 2 students based on JEE (Main) rank for first year; if both are boys, 1 additional for the top girl student.

  • Must maintain CGPA ≥ 9 for full free ship; CGPA ≥ 8.5 but <9 for half free ship in subsequent years.

  • Branch-wise merit scholarships for 2nd, 3rd, Final years on CGPA ≥ 8.5

Up to 4 years (subject to conditions)

Fee Waivers for SC/ST Students

  • Students belonging to the Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribes.

  • Must clear all courses in the previous year; max 2 backlogs.

  • Not on academic or disciplinary probation.

Fee Waivers for Persons with Disabilities (PwD)

  • PwD students with annual family income less than INR 5,00,000 get full free ship.

  • PwD students with income less than INR 10,00,000 get half free ship.

Fee Waivers based on Family Income

  • Full free ship including hostel fees to BPL card holders.

  • Half free ship to max 2% students per batch with family income less than INR 5,00,000.

  • Fee waiver given only if no coaching fees is more than INR 30,000 in XI & XII.

Fee Waivers for Emergency Situations

  • Compassionate financial assistance in emergency cases granted by the Chairman of the Senate under authorisation.

  • Includes Top Class Education Schemes for SC and PwD, PM Scholarship for CAPF & Assam Rifles, Post Matric Scholarships for SC/ST, etc.

PEC Chandigarh- Documents Required

  • Income Certificate issued by Deputy Commissioner/Tehsildar/SDM or employer (competent authority).
  • Affidavit attested by a Magistrate detailing family income from all sources.
  • JEE (Main) Rank Card for merit scholarships.
  • Academic records/CGPA proving eligibility for continuing scholarships beyond the first year.
  • Caste Certificate for SC/ST scholarships.
  • Disability Certificate for PwD scholarships.
  • BPL Card for the economically weaker sections waivers.
  • No backlog/academic probation certificate from the institute (for renewal).
  • Relevant certificates/documents for government or external scholarships.
