Walchand College of Engineering, Sangli, is an autonomous institute established in 1947. It is approved by AICTE, New Delhi, and accredited by the NBA. Originally founded as New Engineering College, it was renamed in 1955 under the support of Seth Walchand Hirachand Memorial Trust and the Government of Maharashtra.
