The Indian Institute of Technology Indore, also known as IIT Indore or IITI, is an important educational institution in Madhya Pradesh. IIT Indore : Admission Process
Undergraduate Programs (B.Tech)
To be eligible for the B.Tech programs at IIT Indore, candidates must have completed Class 12 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM) and secured a minimum of 75% aggregate marks (65% for SC/ST candidates). Admission is based on the JEE Advanced exam, following the JEE Main exam. The process starts with registering for JEE Main on the NTA website, followed by JEE Advanced registration for qualifying candidates. After the JEE Advanced results are declared, counseling is conducted through JoSAA for final seat allocation based on rankings and preferences.
Postgraduate Programs (M.Tech)
For M.Tech programs, candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field with at least 60% marks or equivalent CGPA. Admission is based on GATE scores, though IIT graduates with a CPI of 8.0 or more may be exempt from GATE. Candidates must first register for GATE and, after receiving their scores, apply directly to IIT Indore. The selection process involves registration on the Common Offer Acceptance Portal (COAP) for seat allocation.
Postgraduate Programs (M.Sc)
Candidates applying for M.Sc programs need to have completed a Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 60% marks in the relevant field. Admission is based on the JAM (Joint Admission Test for M.Sc) scores. Once candidates receive their JAM scores, they can apply to IIT Indore and participate in the Centralized Counseling for M.Sc (CCMN) for seat allocation.
Ph.D. Programs
For Ph.D. admissions, candidates must have a Master’s degree in a relevant discipline. The application process includes submitting an online form through the IIT Indore website, followed by an entrance exam and interview. In addition to the application, candidates may be required to submit supporting documents like scorecards, academic records, identity proof, and recommendations or a statement of purpose, depending on the program.

IIT Indore : Campus Infrastructure
Health centre:
The health centre of the Indian Institute of Technology Indore provides dedicated health services to the institute community comprising of students, employees, their dependents and institute guests. The health centre offers outpatient, day care, trauma and emergency care. Counselling centre: IIT-Indore has a student counselling centre in place that offers supportive and conductive environment for a student wherein they can discuss personal issues or academic challenges and seek help from a professional counsellor.
Hostel:
IIT Indore is a fully residential institute, where students from all academic program live on campus, creating a vibrant, close-knit community that fosters personal growth, collaboration, and lasting friendships. The campus currently has six hostels, including one dedicated to female students and another for married residents. Accommodation is provided on a sharing basis, cultivating a strong sense of camaraderie and community among students.
ATMs:
The campus hosts 3 ATMs. HDFC Bank in School buildin, SBI in workshop building, canara bank with branch. All ATMs are 24/7 functional. Electronic zone: M/s electronic zone is situated at first floor of Central Dining facility. It provides sales, servicing and repairing of all laboratory and domestic electronics and electrical equipment and gadget like mobiles, laptops, tablets.
IIT Indore : Placement and Career Opportunities
The training and placement office of IIT Indore handles all activities related to the campus placement of the graduating batch which includes interacting with the HR representatives of corporate organizations, arranging necessary infrastructure to conducte the placement drive, and conducting and holding the on and off campus placements. The office is managed by a motivated and dedicated team consisting of the Head, Training & Placement, the staff and the student representatives of each disciplines.
Placement process
- Contact with TPC is established and after understanding the requirements job announcement form (JAF) is exchanges.
- Recruiter reads the guidelines and fill in the JAF.
- Once placement office receives the required information (JAF, JD etc), SPOC is assigned.
- After checking the eligibility, students data is shared. A mutual feasible date is fixed for the processes.
- The drive is scheduled and the result is declared.
