IISWBM (Indian Institute of Social Welfare and Business Management) Kolkata is the first business school in India to offer an MBA degree. The institute offers PG and doctorate courses to students in the Management stream. The courses offered are MBA (Day), MBA (Evening), MBA HRM, MBA PS, MSW and PhD. Admission is mainly based on merit and entrance exams such as CAT, MAT, GATE, CMAT, GMAT, JEMAT, ATMA or XAT. The XAT 2026 application form was released on 10th July 2025, and the exam is scheduled to be held on 4th January 2026. Eligible candidates can apply exclusively through online mode, as no offline option is available. The Xavier Aptitude Test (XAT) is a university-level entrance exam conducted annually by XLRI Jamshedpur in computer-based (CBT) mode.
