National Law University Odisha is the institution to study undergraduate and postgraduate law courses with its admissions being based mainly on the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT). In the case of 5-year combined BA LL.B. (Hons.) and BBA LL.B. (Hons.) the qualification required is a 10 +2 with 60 percent marks (relaxation in reserved category) and a valid CLAT UG score. The three-year LL.B. program has admission requirement of bachelor degree under 45% marks and the LL.M. program of graduates who have passed CLAT PG.
Besides courses based on CLAT, NLUO has a three year Bachelor of law BA (Law) degree, Certificate Courses in Cyber Law / Cyber Security and Ph.D in Law. Ph.D. candidates also require a Master of law with 55% (50% by SC/ST/OBC/PWD) and pass through a university specific admission procedure. Although the date of CLAT 2026 will be on December 7, 2025, the application process will commence on August 1, 2025 and all CLAT based admissions will be on merit, as per the guidelines of the Consortium.
