Delhi LLM Admissions

Delhi University offers a postgraduate degree in law (LLM), available as both a 2 year and a 3 year programme under the Faculty of Law at its North Campus. To be eligible for admission, candidates must have a 3 year or 5 year LLB degree from a recognized university, and a minimum 50% aggregate marks for General and EWS and 45% for SC/ST/OBC/PwD categories.

 

The admission process is based on entrance tests. DU does not hold a separate entrance exam for LLM because the admission is based on CUET‑PG Law test scores. The entire registration and admission process takes place online through the official website of DU. The application fee for admission is reasonable at INR 250.

 

There are 125 total LLM seats in DU for 2025, which increases competition. The entrance test generally consists of questions from Family Law, Contract Law, Constitutional Law, etc. Those students who have sufficient work experience, such as more than 2+ years atleast may be given preference.

Delhi LLM Eligibility Criteria

Given below is the detailed eligibility criteria for the Delhi LLM Admissions. Students must be eligible in order to apply for the course:

  • Must possess a 3-year or 5-year LLB degree from a recognized Indian or foreign university, or equivalent as accepted by DU.
  • General & EWS candidates: minimum 50% aggregate marks or equivalent grade
  • Candidates must obtain a valid score in the entrance test-CUET PG, to be eligible for admission.
  • There are relaxations for candidates belonging to the reserved categories, of atleast 5% deduction.

For admission to Delhi LLM, there are no separate university-specific entrance exams conducted. The national level entrance test, CUET-PG is used. Delhi LLM Admission Process 2025

The admission to Delhi LLM is based on the entrance exams like CUET PG etc. Students need to appear for the national level examination in order to pursue the Master of Laws from a reputable university in Delhi. However, some universities also provide admission on the basis of University Level test or Merit. Given below is the step by step admission process for Delhi LLM:

 

Step 1: Go to the official site for law entrance exams like CUET PG. Sign up by giving your personal and educational details. After registration, you will get a confirmation email or SMS with a link to complete your application.

 

Step 2: Fill the application form with your education history, achievements and career goals. Upload your 10th and 12th mark sheet, degree certificate or latest results, passport-shaped photos, and any required category certificate. See everything before submitting.

 

Step 3: If your university requests this, submit your application online or personally. Some may require you to bring paper documents for verification on interview day, so prepare them.

 

Step 4: You may need an entrance examination like CUET PG to test your legal logic, English, general knowledge and logic. Some schools may also discuss interviews or groups later.

 

Step 5: Once the results are out, the shortlisted candidates will be invited for counseling or direct entry based on their rank and selected colleges. Schools will consider your exam score, interview results, and application details for final selection.

 

Step 6: If selected, you will receive an admit card after one week of the selection round, or via email through the university portal. This letter will include your course fee, hostel information and orientation schedule.

 

Step 7: To secure your location, pay the entry fee mentioned in the letter and any deposit in the letter before the time limit.
