IIT JAM 2026 Counselling: Registration Begins (Mar 27), Schedule, Cutoff

IIT JAM 2026 Counselling registration is going to begin from March 27, 2026. The last date to register for the counselling process is April 15, 2026. IIT JAM 2026 Counselling is conducted for candidates who qualified the IIT JAM 2026 exam, meet the cutoff and wish to take admission in PG courses offered by IITs and other participating institutes. The counselling process is held online through the JOAPS portal, where candidates need to register and pay a non-refundable counselling fee. Candidates are also required to choose up to three choices during JAM 2026 counselling registration process.

Admission is granted based on the rank in the JAM 2026 Merit List, preferences filled, and seat availability. Only candidates who secure marks greater than or equal to the cutoff of their respective category are eligible to participate in the counselling process of IIT JAM 2026. IIT JAM 2026 Counselling Process

The IIT JAM 2026 Counselling Process is an important step for candidates seeking admission to PG courses at IITs and other participating institutes. Only candidates who qualify the IIT JAM 2026 cutoff and are included in the merit list will be eligible to register for counselling. Candidates must login to the JOAPS portal, register, and fill in their preferred choices of courses and institutes. 1. Candidates must register on the JOAPS portal and fill in their preferred colleges and courses.

3. Candidates offered seats must login to the portal and select one of the three options - Accept and Freeze, Accept and Upgrade, or Reject and Quit.
4. Those who accept the seat must pay the required seat booking fee through online payment modes.
5. Candidates must attend the document verification process and submit the required documents in original and photocopy.
6. If seats remain vacant, further rounds of counselling will be conducted.

Candidates must present required documents at the time of counselling for document verification. Candidates are advised to carry both original documents and photocopies of the required documents for submission. Not submitting the required documents may lead to cancellation of the seat allotment. IIT JAM Counselling 2026 Participating Institutes

The IIT JAM 2026 counselling will be conducted for admission to MSc and MSc-PhD courses offered at IISc Bangalore and various IITs. Apart from IITs, NITs, IISERs, and other institutes also accept JAM scores, but their counselling process is conducted separately.
