KCET 2025 Counselling started on July 8, and the authority has published the mock allotment for Round 1 on July 25. The last date to submit the choice of courses and KEA colleges was July 18, 2025. The KCET 2025 option entry link was activated on the website along with the provisional seat matrix information. The authorities will also activate a link for editing and modifying the details for seat allotment. This link remained active between July 21 and 24, 2025. The final seat allotment results for round 1 of KCET counselling will be released on July 28, 2025.

KCET Counselling 2025 Dates

The first round of mock allotment KCET 2025 has been published on the official website on July 25. The option entry started on July 8 and lasted till July 18. KCET Counselling 2025 Process

During KCET Counselling Process 2025, candidates need to undergo document verification, choice filling, seat allotment, and reporting to the allotted institute. A step-by-step explanation of this process is presented below:

 

1st Step: Document Verification and Registration

  • Qualified candidates must report to the designated KEA verification centres for document verification.
  • They need to carry essential documents, such as SSLC/10th and 2nd PUC/12th mark sheets, a printout of the KCET 2025 application form, proof of fee payment, the KCET admit card, and two recent passport-size photographs.
  • Caste certificate, income certificate, domicile certificate, employment certificate, rural study certificate, and affidavits are required for candidates from reserved categories.

2nd Step: Choice Filling and Locking

  • After verification, candidates must log in using their KCET number to access the online entry portal.
  • In this phase, they can select their preferred colleges and courses.
  • Candidates can prefer a choice by considering seat availability by course, category, and college in the seat matrix.
  • Candidates can modify, rearrange, or delete their choices until the final date.
  • Once the options are locked, no further changes will be allowed.

3rd Step: Seat Allotment

  • KEA will first release the tentative seat allotment details in the form of a mock allotment result.
  • Based on this, candidates can edit their preferences.
  • After this, actual seat allotment results will be published online in Round 1 and Round 2.
  • Seat allotment is done based on candidates' ranks, category, seat availability, and preferences.

4th Step: Reporting to Allotted Institutes

  • Candidates who are allocated a seat must report to the designated college within the given timeline.
  • They must present their original documents, allotment letter, and pay the admission fees.
  • Failure to report within the deadline may result in the cancellation of the allotted seat.

KCET Special Category Eligibility List 2025

The Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) has published the KCET 2025 special eligibility category list at cetonline.karnataka.gov.in. The list includes candidates eligible under reserved categories, such as NCC, Defence, CAPF, Ex-CAPF, Ex-Defence, and Scouts & Guides, as per KEA norms. Candidates now check KCET 2025 special eligibility category list by doing the following:

NCC

  • Candidates must have participated in the Republic Day camp conducted by the NCC Director General of New Delhi from Karnataka.

OR

  • Should have participated in All India Thal Sainik Camp (Boys) and TSC/All India Thal Sainik Camp (Girls)
  • Candidates should also have a B certificate obtained between the 8th and 12th standard in Karnataka.
  • Candidates should have participated in the All India Mavalankar Shooting Championship with the KAR and GOA Director Team.
  • Should have participated in the National Level Youth Exchange Program and Foreign Naval Cruise conducted by the DG, NCC.
  • Candidates who have been selected as a part of the DG NCC team to participate in the All India Mavalankar Shooting Championship at the National Level and Youth Exchange Programmes and Foreign Naval Cruise organised by DG NCC will be eligible.

Sports

  • Candidates should have achieved National-level cups/medals in Super-A games or B-games during the five years of basic education (8th to 12th standard) in Karnataka.

Scouts & Guides

  • Candidates who have received the ‘President's Award’ as 'Scouts/Guides' during the five years of education from Class 8 to 12 in Karnataka will be eligible.

Defence Special Category

  • Son/Daughter of Defence personnel
  • Candidates need to produce a Defence Certificate

Ex-Defence Category

  • Son/Daughter of ex-personnel of the Defence services
  • Needs to have a Defence Certificate issued by the Joint Director/Deputy Director

CAPF

  • Candidates should have a certificate issued by the CAPF Unit, mentioning the candidate's parents' declaration that they were domiciled in Karnataka at the time of joining the CAPF service.

 

KCET Counselling 2025: Documents Required

For KCET Counselling 2025, candidates must carry documents including the KCET application form, admit card, 2nd PUC mark sheets, and fee payment proof. Additional certificates like caste, income, rural study, and domicile-related documents are required based on the category and eligibility criteria of candidates.
