Gian Jyoti Institute of Management and Technology (GJIMT) conducted a full-day workshop titled “Creating and Optimising Your ORCID iD” on 28 January 2026. The workshop was aimed at helping faculty members and researchers improve their research profiles and digital presence.
The session explained what ORCID (Open Researcher and Contributor ID) is and why it is important. ORCID is a unique digital ID for researchers. It helps in giving correct credit for research work and avoids confusion caused by similar names. During the workshop, participants learned how to:
- Create and manage an ORCID iD.
- Link their publications, affiliations, grants, and other research outputs.
- Connect ORCID with publishers, funding agencies, and research databases.
- Optimize their ORCID profiles to make their research more visible and credible.
The workshop was hands-on and interactive, allowing participants to practice using the ORCID platform. This initiative is part of Gian Jyoti Institute of Management and Technology’s effort to support research management and improve the quality of research documentation.
