The Design Aptitude Test (DAT) Prelims will be held on 21 December 2025 across centres. Admissions are open for B.Des programmes at NID Ahmedabad, Andhra Pradesh, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, and Assam, and M.Des programmes at NID Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar, and Bengaluru.

About NID Assam

National Institute of Design Assam, established in 2019, is part of India’s premier network of design institutes under the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Ministry of Commerce and Industry. As an Autonomous Institution of National Importance, NID Assam offers Bachelor of Design courses in Communication Design, Industrial Design, and Textile & Apparel Design, along with a Foundation Program that introduces students to core design principles.

 

Through the Placement & Career Development Cell (P&CDC), students receive career guidance, resume building, interview training, and opportunities for internships and placements. Graduates from other NID campuses have secured positions with reputed organisations like Adobe, Microsoft, and Tata Motors, indicating strong prospects for future students.

 

The institute provides modern infrastructure including fully-equipped workshops, studios, and labs for wood, metal, clay-ceramics, weaving, dyeing & printing, garment construction, apparel design, photography, physical computing, and communication design. Residential students have access to separate hostels for boys and girls, a student mess, medical facilities, counselling services, and recreational amenities such as an amphitheatre, auditorium, indoor/outdoor sports facilities, and a gymnasium. The Knowledge Management Centre (KMC) serves as the central library and digital resource hub, offering RFID-enabled access to print and e-resources for academic and research activities.
