Indian Institute of Technology Madras, popularly known as IIT Madras, based in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, was established in 1959 as a Premier Government Institute. IIT Madras Admission 2025

Online applications are accepted at IIT Madras. National-level entrance tests, including JEE Advanced, IIT JAM, and GATE, are used by IIT Madras to take students to its various programs. The University provides different levels of program admissions in multiple fields of Engineering and Technology. Students are selected to the flagship B.Tech programs based on their JEE-Advanced scores, which are then compared to the JoSAA counselling process. Students are chosen for the final seat allocation after successfully completing the counselling procedure, document verification, and tuition price payment. Its standard eligibility includes a minimum of 45% (for general category students) and 40% (for reserved category students) aggregate in a 10+2 equivalent higher qualifying exam recognised by related boards with relevant subjects, a valid JEE Advanced Score, Merit in graduation, and a valid GATE/ IIT JAM Score.

How to apply for IIT Madras Admission?

• Visit the IIT Madras official website https://www.iitm.ac.in/.
• Select the course in which students want to take admission
• Scroll down and select the relevant Entrance Exams.
• Click ‘Apply Now’.
• Enter the personal details like name, address and marks obtained, followed by exam city.
• After completing the application form, submit the related/ required documents, such as a scanned passport photo, signature, marksheets, etc.
• The Application fee is around INR 3,000/- for General and INR 1,500/- for Reservation Category students.

IIT Madras Placement 2025

The Indian Institute of Technology Madras placement 2025 statistics have not been released yet. IIT Madras planned placement process connects graduating students with top national and international employers. Under the direction of the Placement and Internship Office, the process runs from July to May. It involves several stages to guarantee thorough planning and the best match between recruiters and students. IIT Madras Placement process registration will begin in August. Students need to follow the steps mentioned below for the IIT Madras Placement process:

• Pre-Placement Activities: To get students ready for the hiring process, the Career Development Cell hosts technical assessments, aptitude exams, and Pre-Placement Talks from September to November.
• Online ERF: ERF cannot be changed once approved and made available to students.
• Students' Portal Visibility: Companies can hold on-campus pre-placement interviews if interested. Pre-placement discussions depend on the number of available seats.
• Test Procedure: The companies have till November to administer written or online assessments. The companies will be assisted according to the student's location which works for both parties.
• Interview scheduling: All registered companies' campus interview dates are considered by the internal Date Allotment committee, made up of faculty, students, and other state representatives.
• Interview Procedure: Placement Interviews begin in December. By the end of each slot, companies must notify the Placement Office of the number of students they have chosen. If they want, recruiters can also submit a waitlist. Before the end of March, offer letters must be delivered to the Placement Office.
