B.Arch Admission 2025: Eligibility, Exams and Admission Process

BArch is a five-year undergraduate course in architectural design, planning, construction, and eco-friendly building methods. The candidates who have passed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics with an aggregate of not less than 50% marks are eligible to opt for this course.

 

The admission to the Bachelor of Architecture course in India is based on institute-level, state-level, and national-level entrance examinations. National-level entrance exams such as NATA and JEE Main Paper 2, and some of the state-level entrances are UPSEE, TANCET, etc. All architecture schools in India, including IITs, most NITs, and SPAs, accept scores of these entrance exams, followed by counselling or direct admission procedures.

B.Arch Eligibility Criteria

To apply for Bachelor of Architecture admissions, the candidates must fulfil the following eligibility criteria:

  • The candidates must have passed 10+2 from a recognised board.
  • They must have studied Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as core subjects and obtained a minimum aggregate of 50% marks (45% for the reserve category)
  • The candidates with a 3-year diploma are also eligible to apply for lateral entry.
  • Should have appeared for NATA or JEE Main Paper 2.

B.Arch Admission Process 2025

BArch admissions are usually based on exams like JEE-Main paper 2 and NATA, followed by counselling. The institutes either conduct their counselling, or a common counselling is done by JoSAA, CSAB, etc. Let’s consider the admission of SPA Delhi to understand the Bachelor of Architecture admission process.

 

Entrance Examination - The aspirants will need to apply for JEE-Main and sit for JEE-Main paper 2 and pass with a valid mark.

 

Registration for Counselling - After the JEE-Main results are declared, the candidates will need to register for JoSAA counselling.

 

Locking of Choice - The aspirants will need to give their choice of the course and college.

 

Seat Allocation - The applicants shall be allocated a seat as per their scores in the examination, choice, category and seat availability.
