BSc in IT Admission: Eligibility Criteria and Admission Process

Bachelor of Science in Information Technology or BSc IT is a 3-year graduation program focused on computer technology, software development, database, networking and information systems. The purpose of the course is to create necessary technical skills and analytical abilities for a career in IT services, software development, data analysis and cyber security. Students learn more through programming, system analysis, cloud computing, and practical lab work and projects.

 

To get admission in the BSc IT program, candidates usually need to pass their 10+2 exams with Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry including English as the main subject from a recognized board. Admission is usually given through merit (marks in 12th) or college/university/state-specific entrance examination. BSc IT Admission Eligibility Criteria

The following are the requirements for enrolling in the BSc Information Technology program:

  • 10+2 (or equivalent) should be passed with at least 50% total marks.
  • English should be studied in 10+2.
  • If English is not studied, it can be considered if the candidate is studying in the English medium or similar subject.
  • There should not be any backlogs in any of the subjects studied in 10+2.

BSc IT Admission process

Most universities have a similar admissions procedure for the students to pursue BSc Information Technology. In order to enroll in this course, candidates might need to take an admission exam administered by the relevant university or institution. Step 1 - Signup

 

To start, register on the LPUADMIT portal by filling in the name, email ID, mobile number, state, gender and a password. The user name will be the candidate’s email address. Once registered, candidates will receive a confirmed email. Use the email ID and password to log in to the portal and continue with the admission process.

 

Step 2 - Take admission

 

After logging in, fill the application form and choose the program of interest to study from the available list. Next, make an initial payment of INR 10,000. Once the payment is successful, a unique provisional registration number will be sent to the registered email. Then, upload all the necessary documents with recent photos, proof of date of birth (e.g. Aadhaar or 10th certificate), and previous qualification test mark sheet or certificate. If a candidate is applying for a scholarship based on earlier qualifications, those mark sheets should also be uploaded. If necessary, candidates can also apply for hostels, mess, transportation or parking. Be sure to verify the original documents within the timeline and pay the remaining fee as per the instructions.

 

Step 3 - Apply for LPUNEST (for scholarship)

 

LPUNEST is an online scholarship test that helps students receive scholarships based on their performance. To apply, pay the test fee: If the candidate wants a soft copy of the LPUNEST kit they need to pay INR 1500, and if the candidate wants a printed LPUNEST kit then need to pay INR 1000. Fill the LPUNEST application form to proceed in the process.

 

Step 4 - Book Exam Slot and appear visible

 

Once applied for the LPUNEST, book the exam slot. Candidates can select their suitable date, time and location between taking tests in a center, or take online tests from home according to their convenient time and date.
